Laser designators were originally supposed to be in BF2 (if I remember correctly). How cool would it have been to be able to paint a target like that and have someone else blast the point with guided bombs or guns (of course, you'd have to get an assist point). If anyone has played Tribes or Tribes 2, you'll know how handy it is to have a laser painted target.

Heh heh Shard. In Tribes 2 there were handheld mortar guns and you could use a laser designated point to help you accurately fire them in a huge arc to blast the enemy to hell.
