War of the Worlds

Anyone else seen this? I for one thought it was great. Very suspenseful and just the right amount of scary. I love the sound the tripods made.

Thoughts?

i know, but it could have been done so much better.

they're harvesting the humans or whatever, and 2 seconds later they're dead. they should have made it that there was a huge military attack against them when humans noticed they were weakened. instead, they just die and the movie ends.

in the book half of the book is running from them in terror , the 2nd half is knowing they are dying and how they are dying and just learning to avoid them till they all keel over.

That would have turned a fine British story into pathetic Hollywood crap.

As it is, the point to the ending is that no matter how powerful you are, it's always the little bug that gets you in the end.

Saw it last night for $3. Cheap movie house close by that plays FIRST RUN movies. The theater has a couples deal: 2 movie tickets, 2 large sodas and a large popcorn... $10!!

Now where can you get a deal like that?? :)

Oh! and the rovie was great too! ;)

I kinda liked the original better :P

This one was good for modern times and people whove never seen the original, but most originals are better :D

how close did they stick to the original storyline? cause i know the time machine remake was almost a completely different story which wouldn't have pissed me off if they didn't claim that it was the hg wells version.

To be honest, I liked the remake better. The original movie is kinda cheesy by today's standards.
