Haha! Canada Sucks!
The title was just to get Canadians into the thread and read this link.
I know we've all heard about Quebec splitting from Canada but Ontario?
Must be goofier up there than we Americans think.

Alberta, not Ontario.
indeed, i wonder if he actually read the article he linked to.
thoughts of provincial separation in Canada have been around for a long time, but nothing will ever come of it. Ontario is the powerhouse of the country. It's where most of the people are, has the most industry, decides the federal elections, etc. The rest of canada will always be pissed at the fact that Ontario voters decide how the country is run. They'll still vote for a corrupt liberal party before a western based opposition party any day.
I just have to laugh when I hear people speak of Alberta separating. If a province full of pissed off frenchies can't muster up enough support to leave Canada, no one will.

we are leading the world with much more than that

For Canada's economy, good times may be about to get better.
Propelled by record household spending, a 30-year-low jobless rate and the highest corporate profits ever, the Canadian economy will grow by 3.3 percent next year from 2.6 percent this year, the Bank of Canada forecasts. A revised outlook from the bank, due July 14, may push the 2006 figure even higher, economists say.
In 2005's first quarter, Canada had the second-best- performing economy in the Group of 7 industrialized nations, trailing only the U.S., and is the only one with trade and budget surpluses. ``There's a euphoria about how we are doing,'' said Blake Goldring, who oversees the equivalent of $26 billion as chief executive of money manager AGF Management Ltd. in Toronto.
