quote from cnn:

"Scotland Yard said today's arrest took place in Stockwell, near where police had earlier shot dead a man they said was directly linked to their anti-terrorist operation."

Well, it turns out the man had no connexion with the bombings whatsoever.

Do you guys still want to gloat over this?

It startles me when people cheer about someone's death. Makes me ashamed of being part of same species.

It's tragic I agree but from the perspective of the policeman I still say he couldn't take the chance that guy was carrying a bomb. I myself can't understand why anyone would run because at best you will be arrested and at worse something like this will happen. I don't think it was admirable, not being keen on armed police at the best of times, but at the same time I think it is an understandable mistake when you take into account present circumstances...

Screw that, I say the guy was up to something. He understood english quite well according to a few articles, yet he ran away from the cops and tried to get on the subway. The cops did the right thing, I don't feel the least bit bad for congratulating them.

This man left the police NO CHOICE, by running from them under the current circumstances. :(

I agree this is a tragedy, but we live in different times now and people MUST LEARN to act accordingly.

This includes submitting to searches in public, well populated, places and also helping by being the eyes and ears of law enforcement.

And yes, we must be careful to not go too far lest we find ourselves living in Orwell's '1984'.

why was he running from the cops? and why did he have to jump a turnstile at the subway in desperation to get away? He was definitely up to something. The cops first saw him coming out of the same building the other terrorists lived in.

I dont know.. in my mind.. when the cops ask you to do something, especially with what has happened recently.. and you are innocent, you just do what they say.

Death penalty, without trial, for disobeying cops. Sounds a little too simple to me.

well, given the situation.. i wouldn't call it "death penalty" for disobeying cops. It seems they were trying to prevent another tragedy.

He looks like one of them..... KILL HIM.

Maybe if you looked like one of them you might
think a little differently. Those of you who have
been hassled on the streets know what I'm talking
about.
