Thought I'd try and beat Buli to the punch on this one. They're a bit temperamental but the low res one works fine.

A username and password for a trailer? meh...

I like the Rock though. I was never a big wrestling fan but I thinks it's cool he climbed out of those ranks into something bigger. Where would we be without some large semi educated action heroes. :D

The trailer mentions Mars, but I've read elsewhere they changed the setting to another planet. Then, they don't say that the creatures are demons/denizens from Hell, but they're genetic mutants. Kind of destroys what the games have been all about, in my book.

After the first two Doom games, in the expansions (like Final Doom) they shied away from using references to Hell and demons and the like, caving in to pressure from concerned parents and organizations that claimed the material wasn't appropriate. The books did the same thing (only read the first one, but from reviews I've read they change the focus from possible demons to definite aliens). Oh, and by the way, never read the books: they're about as awful as you can get. Thankfully, with Doom3, they brought back the Hell idea.

Anyhow, I'm a sucker for sci fi anyways... especially bad sci fi flicks, so I'll probably see it... at least as a rental. But to change so much of what's fundamental about the game? That's just weak.

The good old, beat 'em up, carry tons of guns, testosterone laden action flicks from the 80's (mostly poorly written and cheesy, but emphasis on fun) don't ever seem to be made anymore... except when the Rock is involved. No, he's not a good actor, per se, but I like his flicks for some reason.
Move as a team, never move alone. Welcome to the Terrordome!

Another trailer exactly similar to all others: throaty voice, 1-second clips, loud bangs, screams... Hollywood needs new ideas.

correction: Hollywood needs ideas.

Ah yes, video game movies.

Let's see, it took them how many decades to get comic book movies correct?

I think we have about another 20 years until I even think of seeing another video game movie.

I dont know if this trailer is new or not.. but.. even though all that's been said about the plot not following the game.. it still looks pretty good, for a mindless action movie.
