Is that actually from in-game, Buli? If so, that doesn't even make sense. Planetside doesn't take place NOW and on EARTH. Ugh.

That's annoying. If a game company is going to charge you to pay each month to play their game, the least they can do is keep advertisements OUT of the actual game. Now, if the game were free to play each month, then... okay, an ad inside the game would be okay by me. That'd be a price of not having to pay per month.

Actually it's not a bad idea. I wish I had thought of it. I would be swimming in a pool of money right now! :P

Just think about it.. It's one more untapped market to reach.. MMO games. Hell, I'd pitch the idea to Coke, Pepsi, Lays, Nike, etc, etc.... Just think how much money you could make at .01 cent per virtual item purchased. You could eat/drink virtual food for added benefits. (Potion of Coke +2 Dex) You could buy and wear virutal clothes (Nike boots of speed/jumping). I'm telling ya.. someone is going to make a fortune!

I admit it will detract from some games, but who cares when you're swimming in a pool of money! I mean, after all, isn't life all about making money and screwing the little guy?
:freak:

(Don't bother flaming me. There are pro's and con's to everything and I don't necessarily think advertising in MMO's is a great idea. I do think it will happen sooner or later.)

Video game advertising is going to be huge! A billboard in a driving/racing game or GTA is just a good as a real life billboard on some boulevard.

Yeah, but when the advertising bill comes up and they don't pay for the next month, how do they get the billboards out and white washed?
They can't make you patch the billboards out of the game.

One time fee for some games, ads stay in for lifetime, some online type games they may be able to rotate ads.
