Getting back to what Sir Loin was saying, I too am getting a bit tired of being jet-whored. I was thinking of practicing up the yinyang so I could hop into a jet and take those mofos down. Sounds like the best way to take down a jet is another jet. Right now I suck at flying, so I'll have to practice like crazy.

Homerzz: good example! Love a good, close quarters firefight. Hate when it gets ruined by a jetjockey.

I'm sure the ground pounders would love to find a server

change the balance, sounds good to me.

I don't mind the arty. I have found myself warning fellow squad members to spread out or to find some cover or to move on toward a new flag right after we cap a flag together because a bunched up squad is just an arty strike waiting to happen. The choppers, while powerful, are vulnerable. The jets just suck.

Ground pounding is the way to go....

I respect a ground pounder with more deaths than kills more than a carpet bomber with 40 kills and 0 deaths

Thats a thought, and the server could still stay ranked :)

But wouldn't that make the situation with moving vehicles even worse? I don't think you should change anything if it makes it worse for those who get TKs because an ally bumped into their moving vehicle.

Heh, I don't think you can make that any worse.

Anyway, I think it only changes the damage the projectiles do, not the armor covered live sea snakes.

<sigh>

Me too, man. Me too.

Anyhow - jets. Airpower in general. It's not really so much that I suck at it - and trust me, I do... it's that it seems like the true air power whores just don't give a damn. This frustrated feeling comes from way back in BF42, where I was getting dive bombed while trying to line up the M7. I'd finally get in position and BAM. Dead. It was hard wnough getting that thing to the right place, let alone lined up with a good spot.

Then BFV, where inevitably I'd get pinned down in some crap shack by a river because the MI-8 was spinning with its nose toward the ground spawn-raping the flagpoint, or worse yet I'd get napalmed - along with 10 other people (friendly/enemy, didn't matter).

I think what ticks me off the most about BF2's air vehicle whoring is that the jets are tough to take down and they make very little noise. Some choppers are tough, the BH is near impossible from the ground-mounted AA, but they make noise. I can hear them coming, usually.

Well put conan. That is why i lock my squad every time i start it. I cant stand having point whores in muffdivers. Try to get 100 points on the ground and then try to get 100 in the air. Then tell me which is easier.

I think i will start to look for servers with commander mode off. I dont need artillery that bad and i think it would be kind of cool to actually stay hidden on a map.:freak:

I think one thing to fix arty would be to increase the recharge time. it recharges pretyy quick, and also not let supply crates repair them maybe even make them take much longer to repair by engies too. I think its nice to have arty in game but the way it is now is just insta death too fast
