The Spirit's Cool file of the day
I have been compiling a collection of cool and different yet FREE files. Most of which are very useful. In this thread I will share one a day for a while.
For the first one I selected:
Volumouse
Volumouse provides you a quick and easy way to control the sound volume on your system - simply by rolling the wheel of your wheel mouse.
It allows you to define a set of rules for determining when the wheel will be used for changing the sound volume. For example: You can configure Volumouse to use your mouse wheel for volume control when the Alt key is hold down, when the left mouse button is down, when the mouse cursor is over the taskbar, and so on...
When the conditions that you define are not satisfied, your mouse wheel will be used for the regular scrolling tasks, exactly as before.

Sounds good, I think I can use that "Volumouse".
I like the idea of "cool and different yet FREE files".
My brother-in-law insists on using "I paid 30 dollars for this
program and i'm going to use it no matter what".
I have shown him some of the free anti virus, anti spyware
programs but in his mind his "pro" programs have to be
better.

Today's Free File is
GMail Drive Use GMail as a virtual hard drive.
GMail Drive is a Shell Namespace Extension that creates a virtual filesystem around your Google Gmail account, allowing you to use Gmail as a storage medium.
GMail Drive creates a virtual filesystem on top of your Google Gmail account and enables you to save and retrieve files stored on your Gmail account directly from inside Windows Explorer. GMail Drive literally adds a new drive to your computer under the My Computer folder, where you can create new folders, copy and drag'n'drop files to.
Ever since Google started to offer users a Gmail e-mail account, which includes storage space of 2000 megabytes, you have had plenty of storage space but not a lot to fill it up with. With GMail Drive you can easily copy files to your Gmail account and retrieve them again.
When you create a new file using GMail Drive, it generates an e-mail and posts it to your account. The e-mail appears in your normal Inbox folder, and the file is attached as an e-mail attachment. GMail Drive periodically checks your mail account (using the Gmail search function) to see if new files have arrived and to rebuild the directory structures. But basically GMail Drive acts as any other hard-drive installed on your computer.
You can copy files to and from the GMail Drive folder simply by using drag'n'drop like you're used to with the normal Explorer folders.

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to use this to store data off-line? I didn't read the article yet, but I don't think they are online yet.

ObjectDock
I like a clean desktop. OD helps me keep it that way while still having access to the software I need. ObjectDock is a program that lets you organize your short-cuts and running tasks onto an extremely customizable dock that sits on your desktop.

As I said in an earlier post I like a clean desktop. Iconoid helps with that as well.
Iconoid is a Windows desktop icon manager.
• Make icon backgrounds transparent
• Select any color for icon backgrounds
• Save and Restore Icon positions for each (or every) screen resolution
• Select any color for icon text
• Automatically or manually select the best color for the text background
• Dynamically hide icons when you don't need them and show them when you do
• Quickly minimize all windows so that you can see your desktop wallpaper.
Get it for FREE here.
Hey these files helpful? anyone using them? post you ideas or opinions if you do. Thanks!
