mousepads

Postby -HaVoC- » Sun Oct 09, 2005 11:19 am

It's a topic that can be visited frequently. We were discussing them for a few minutes last night so I thought I would post a link to the mousepad I got. The reasons I chose this one is because it is the thinnest I have ever seen so my wrist doesn't hurt resting on the edge. So thickness was one point and also it needed to be a durable hard surface that would last without getting stained or peeling. I found this and love it.

Review of the mouse pad and the steel pads

I've tried many mouse feet enhancements, most of them were tape and horrible after a short time. The pads for the mouse are called steelpad surfers and they are the best. They're super slick and never need cleaning.

After about 6 months what can I say, the combination rocks!

Well let's look at the specs:

Func pad - 10"x8.5" and 1/8" thick

S&S Steelpad - 12.5"x10.5" and 1/16" thick

The Func 1030 falls short of the S&S Steelpad by 2" on both the length and the width. The Func is also twice as thick. I have used many pads and spent quite sometime looking into this purchase. The 2" around matter and that 1/16" really matters if you spend hours gaming. Match this with the Steelpadz and it's like buttuh.

In a matter of opinion the Func may have what you want, but in a matter of specs there is no comparison here.... next.

You grab whatever pad you like and some good teflon skates for the mouse feet and I swear you'll wet your pants with glee.

G5 and G7 have new pads.. some long ass name poly-something.....Polytetrafluoroethylene.. i looked it up..lol

I have a 518 that I put teflon pads on, and was using a steelpad as well.. Got the G5 and that puppy tracks BETTER on my plain desk AND it skates better.. So GONE are the days of keeping my pad protected for transport to and from the lan parties.. just bring the new G5 or G7 with me.

Not to mention that the pads on the G5/G7 are now just two HUGE pads instead of a bunch of tiny ones.. mmmmm its smooooooooth.

Not bad Tek. I used my desk for awhile with my MX700. I think the fact it was getting dirty too much made me want to go back to a pad of some sort. However after using the desk I found my first choice back too thick. That's what led my to the 2mm Steelpad.

I'm curious what skates you have. Do they get dirty?

these are the stock skates on the G5/G7 the polytetra......

when i get home i'll look, but when i went to a lan last week the skates were still clean and that was about a week of ownership on the G5.

mwave won't have stock on the G7 until the 25th or 29th of this month.. once they get stock i'll order it and let you know how it is..

pardon my previous post where i was saying pads were skates and being 10 kinds of confusing there! ;p
