Just got one

69.00 bucks at walmart

400.00 bucks life time membership

no more adverts

nice to listen to what i want to hear

number 100 reason why I switched is

I have had Sirius since earlier this year. It's really great. My decision over XM also was based on Howard Stern.

Unless I"ve got something in particular I want to listen to on disc, My Sat. radio (Sirius) is pretty much all I listen to in the car now. Can't wait for Howard to get on board. I've been without him for over 2 yrs. now.

Satellite radio is pretty cool but some facts are little off and often misinterpreted.

- There are still commercials. It depends on what channel you're listening to. Some channels - including where Stern will be - run advertising spots. Some run them more often than others.

- Some channels are satellite broadcasts of actual radio stations (usually from California). Because of this you are still subjected to all the usual radio BS that you're trying to avoid on satellite.

- Other things that some satellite stations do that can be considered annoying include regularly scheduled (sometimes every quarter-hour) station identification and on-air personalities/DJ's that talk (a lot) between songs - just like FM stations.

- Subscriptions are only for the serialized unit you register, meaning that unless it is a portable/adaptable unit, your subscription is only valid on the original unit. You cannot share one membership fee for multiple units, even if it is between a car and house receiver. If you want a receiver in your home, they may offer discounted fee, but you'll still end up paying more. Best thing for that is to get the adaptable type that you can pop out of your dashboard and into a home receiver.

- Satellite is not a flawless signal. When driving you may experience 'dead spots' where the sound will cut out. Sometimes this lasts a few seconds, other times it's a few minutes. Sometimes it occurs because you passed under a bridge. Sometimes there's no reasonable reason why it cuts out. There's a 'dead spot' in front of my house, another just down the street from me. No idea why - there's no overhanging structures (not even tree branches!) or any aerial obstructions.

Don't get me wrong, I love satellite radio. I just don't want people to get all fuzzy on it without knowing a few of the negative items.

wrong my sat radio is for car and in home with my boom box no extra charge, and who cares if there is id's from radio

You don't need to take the sirius radio reciever into your house for music. You can just go to thier web site and stream all the music channels to your computer and listen that way. As long as you have a good pair of speakers, you're all set.
