Wolf 2 update...again

Postby B » Fri Dec 09, 2005 6:18 pm

From ign.com

"During Peter Moore's section of X05's keynote speech he introduced id Software's Todd Hollenshead to the stage. As soon as he got on he unexpectedly announced that id Software and Raven Software were already underway with the next installment of the Wolfenstein series. No special title or release date was specifically mentioned, but it was announced that the Xbox 360 would be the exclusive first platform to receive the title."

Wolfs hardcore fans are pc based, and have played it from the beginning, until now. ID Software woud be extremely stupid to not release Wolf 2 on PC. Imagine the backlash from ID fans if they did such a thing.
I think it should come out on pc first.

Even if it's really good there will be angry fans who preferred the original. There's always something to cmplain about.

Ok so like Wolfenstein came out all those years ago, I think it was my first FPS ever played, that or doom. So then they don't come out with anything until that new RTC-Wolfenstein game that you had to buy like a few years ago, and then they came up with that free version right? And is that the latest version? So, if I understand this, and id like to think I do, they are planning on another Wolfenstein sequel to RTC-Wolfenstein?

I think ET is good, albeit a little buggy unmodded. I think it was a good next step forward. I especially like the http redirects for map downloads. Makes custom maps much easier to run on your server. Wish they had that for RTCW.

Anyway, I'd rather them take their time with RTCW2 than to just rush it out if it makes the game any better.

They should put cars and small vehicles in the next wolfenstein, that would add some strategy to the game and maybe do some stuff like socom does with hostages and stuff...I expect wolf2 won't be out until 2008...there gonna milk the 1st wolf for all its worth

I'm curious, those of you that hated ET, what is it that you disliked, compared to RTCW?

Personally i'd rather play et than wolf. Alltho the physics are very simular. The game play and graphics are a little better. There is more weapons and classes to choose from. Which is always a plus. I think wolf2 is gonna end up like Quake Wars & COD2. Eye candy instead of playability. I don't think you'll find a halfway decent 3-D shooter, with a good balance as wolf was. That everyone can relate to.
