New Microsoft spyware tool....

For those who might be interested, I have just run Microsofts new online scanning tool (beta) called "Windows Live" that I mean WOW... It found lot's of stuff other scanning applications failed to find. This tool along with the already released Microsoft Antispyware and Malicious Software Removal Tool is going to be quite a package when released as a finished product later next year. I hope they do not charge too much for it.

or just use mozilla firefox and avoid the spyware all together.....M$ internet explorer sux balls. i know i've said this at some point but since i installed mozilla like a year and a half to 2 years ago, i haven't had even 1 spyware problem. of course there's always the spyware that comes with files one downloads and installs.

Thanks for the tip Mo, i'll check it out.

I spent about 4 hours total on 2 different days cleaning up
my brother-in-laws computer, he managed to get tons
of junk. The worse was a program called Spyaxe, I liked to
never got rid of it.

I had that one too Blade. Spent all of last week trying to get rid of it and still not sure if I have a rootkit hiding somewhere. Remember the day's when computing was so innocent and it was just maybe just a script kiddie doing damage, now it's professional's building these things and selling them to the highest bidder. It's not a matter of if, just when anymore. If Destructor thinks just using Mozilla will protect him, then I have a bridge to sell him. In the process of removing Spyaxe, I found it had corrupted and put its hooks into Firefox as well.

I just got that damn spyaxe two nights ago. I spent my spare time last night here at work getting rid of it. I had to do it manually for the most part but I think I managed to get rid of it. It's listed as a trojan on symantec's website.

Spyaxe is a son of bitch, I hope the methods they use
doesn't spread around. It masquerades as a legit windows
program and then uses extortion to force the user to
buy it.

I just spent two and half hours figuring out how to get rid of Spyaxe on someone's computer at work this very morning. That one was a pain in the balls.
