Jesus, I hate spiders. I don't care what their place in the ecosystem is, I say wipe out spiders and hornets. Thank god, here in NH, spiders don't get too bad.
Here's a pic of the Huntsman spider, the type the guy was kicking. I guess they have a tendency to get into cars and houses.

I tell people and say I'm allergic to bees/hornets, even though I'm not. I find it's less humiliating than saying I'm completely terrified of them.

I'm a man, and men aren't expected to be scared of hornets.
They piss me off though. Look at all the insects that get through life just fine without having to have stingers. Hornets are just the bullies of the insect world. Spiders, scorpions, screw them all. Everybody points out that they kill insects...yeah non-stinging insects. I'd rather have butterflies than hornets anyday.

Ha ha I live o kill wasps. I used to have a little red book I used to swat them it had 127 notches on it 1 for everyone I killed. Just making the world better 1 wasp at a time. I like bees though so I never kill them although I might try to steal some of that sweet sweet honey...
That's a pretty small huntsman on that keyboard. They get bigger than that...

Do they have those type of spiders in England? And if that's a small one, I don't even want to think about what a big one looks like.

No but when I was in Australia on holiday I got surprised by a huntsman a lot bigger than that in the crapper. I posted about it before I think. Needless to say I screaded like a schoolgirl and ran away.
The bigest spiders you get in the uk are like thumbnail sized. Not big at all. We only have one type of poisonous snake as well and you'd be very unlucky to get killed by it.

OK, that's what I figured, we have the same thing here, tiny spiders, one very rare poisonous snake found in the mountains. No surprise, our climates are the same, NH is part of the 'New England' region after all. I'm pretty sure that has the biggest effect, as it seems like the hotter your climate, the deadlier the little critters are.

I like spiders just not poisonous ones. Rather spiders than flies. Spiders don't buzz round you head while you try to sleep...

Yeah, but the sight of a fly doesn't cause me to scream like a 10 year old girl.
