Slower than S*** Computer
Hey guyes how do you suggest I get my computer to run better? So as it is not lagging behind whenever I try to do anything? I think it has to do with there being some 58 opperations going on...This screenshot was taken while having ecgn web site up, taskmanager and windows media player playing some music..Whats the deal here? I have lots of viruse protection...Avast!, Norton, Zone alarm, and spybot...I really do not know what is causing it to be a top notch piece of shit....any help is appreciated, Thanks

Anything over 32 pro's running will LAG any pc... atleast in my experience. Don't know aobut fx53/5/7, etc serires, but i would amagine just doing the casual stuff, anything above 30/32 will slow just about anything though.
Little ap' called win patrol will see what you have running, what you don't want, etc etc.
Start dissabling them, the ones you don't need.
Should just get around to buying spysweaper, has all that plus spyware/ adware protection, but ad-aware/spybot didn't hurt nobody... lol.

Be aware several older applications will distort the resource utilization figures reported by task manager.
Lunatic, you have 53 processes running. When my PC is loaded, it shows 41 processes with 2% CPU (with IE and Firefox open, anti-virus, spyware protection, etc).
I'd say you have a process running amok. Post your tasklist.

I think if I could do that it would solve the problem... Thanks

I also noticed that there were several programs running that were stuff I have never heard of...they were like 30,000 KB of memory so I think they should go. Im just interested in how I could get rid of them perm...Originally posted by Davis
Uh... you should not perminently shut down services, but if you REALLY want to
Start>Run>msconfig>services> go nuts. Just knwo what your shutting down.
Try out the Winpartol ap, it will give you a nice list with hklm path, corporation, other stuff.
Ps, thats ALOT of services running.
Lunatic, it would help a lot if you killed the Acrobat Reader task that's stuck running (AcroRd32.exe). That's a real resource hog.
You have suspicious programs running too. What the hell's "teatimer.exe"?
