Goddamn, LT's! All they do is throw strikes and kill me! No skill havin punks! I want gun battles with LT's so my extra medic health makes me twice as hard to kill!
And grenades! They are too powerful! Let's decrease the range on them so that if you kneel on one it gives you a hangnail when it goes off! Yeah!
And soldiers! They get to carry venoms, and flamethrowers and panzers! Bastards! We should put a limit on the range on the panzer so it explodes after 15 feet! And flamethrowers should only tickle from now on! And now venoms fire beanbag ammo! It hurts... but I'm still here!
Maybe I'm just overreacting. I just do not play medic. I guess it's pathological. I just have no interest in anything medical. Other people can do it IMO. But not me. This is why LT appeals to me...
dude chill....you can still be Lt. this just means you will be giving out more ammo instead of focusing your whole time on how to slaughter as many allies as possible with airstrikes.
you have to admit though, there is far less skill involved in getting70-80 kills with airstrikes and artillery, than there is with someone who can get 35-40 kills in a round with just a thompson.

That is true. Airstrikes are an effective and a very easy way to kill allies. With the way they are now, with no limits put on them, they are just too powerful.
A lot of the games just end up being so lopsided because allies cannot even get in the base because of the airstrikes. I don't understand how people can have fun playing on the axis when this happens. It just gets too boring with nothing going on. I end up going in the trenches just to get slaughtered for something to do.

I like to play at a fast pace. If I start out with no bar, I am going to go hide somewhere to wait to charge it. Whether to give ammo or throw strikes. While I'm doing that, I am basically useless.
I might as well go soldier and not worry about giving ammo or strikes. That way, I can help out right away.
With a full bar I can contribute right away. If someone wants to die repeatedly just to throw strikes, then they will run out of lives. I have seen no evidence of this though. I like my kill ratio high, personally.
Maybe decreasing the amount of lives would counteract someone abusing their lives for strikes? But until that becomes a problem, we shouldn't counteract it.
And Edogg, I wasn't mad before, that was just sarcasm...

One thing about this decision. I don't think this poll should be the final deciding factor in the change. I mean, unless it starts getting like a couple hundred votes or something, it is not a very representative number of the total amount of people that play on 24/7 beach.
I know it's not 15,000 regulars, but I bet it is in the 500-1000 people range. 20-30 votes here by themselves shouldn't decide the fate of so many, IMO....

Spoken like a true, sniveling, low-life, lazy-ass LT.
Go stick your head in somene's ass, you useless turd!!
(I am partially kidding, Rules...you're da mang when it comes to humor and off-beat opinions, but you're stating the exact reasons why air-strike limits will weed out the no-skill hacks).

Dammit! They found me out!.... I mean... uh... nothing...
No really, if you have no bar to start, you can't even give ammo... you have to wait fifteen seconds (I think)... so for fifteen seconds you can't help your team by giving ammo...
I think a change to zero bar will lead to lots of LTs huddling in a corner of the radio room or stairs swapping war stories from when they were not shackled by the onerous restrictions imposed by holier-than-thou parents'-basement-livin weenies (cough...ZOG...cough...
)...
Lets see how the allies like it when every punk they run into past the back stairs is packing a venom....

I learned it by watching you! Get out of my room! I hate you!
Duct trolling is fun too... I guess it's funny I take pleasure from the easiest things in the game... Maybe I should start defending snipers just to REALLY piss people off... Nah, that's going too far...
I swear it would be fun for me to be able to import weapons from different games... Anyone ever play Perfect Dark for N64? They had this weapon called the farsight gun... it was kind of like the railgun in "Eraser". Basically you could see and shoot through walls. I could wipe out the whole WR standing behind sniper hill! And display no discernable skill! Sweet!
Or the Redeemer gun from Unreal Tournament. Steering a nuclear missile into groups of targets... the carnage! And yet again no skill involved! Whooooo!
But then again, if I wanted to change the whole game around, I would play something else... which I guess is my point that got lost amid the nonsense some time ago....

This is not an "off the shelf game".
The game ECGN is running is not the way the game was ever intended to run, therefore certain things need to be changed.
The game was never meant for 64 players (32 only, they have it tweaked), therefore the air strike situation is 'abnormal'.
My original thought process regarding the air strike situation was to limit the total amount of "SPECIAL" classes, i.e. the LTs, the Medics and the Engineers. There should only be a small percentage of these classes in the first place. It should predominantly be all soldiers. I'd prefer a 1-1-1-10 ratio of LTs-Medic-Engineers-Soldiers, like it was in a real war.
Do you think the 83rd Division was made up of 20,000 LTs, 10,000 Medics, 5,000 Engineers and 10 Soldiers??? I think not.
I know this might be considered a stretch because the game isn't a 100% realistic representation of WWII, but it would make at least a little more sense if the proportions were more realistic.
