Server Rule: Door Blocking?

Postby Sabres » Thu Mar 09, 2006 5:12 pm

I was not banned or anything, I just have an issue that needs to be addressed. Read slowly...

Apparently Mrs. B has problems with me handing out ammo to help my team. This is the story:

-I was an Allied Lt., and I stood to the left of the forward bunker door and handed out ammo. I was not blocking the door in any way at all. As far as I know, this is not violating any server rule. The rule is that I cannot block the doorway and I wasn't. So as long I am not blocking the door, I am good, right? Not according to the admin.

This is Mrs. B's arguement:

She said I was causing other players to stop in the doorway and pick up ammo which was blocking the flow of traffic leaving the forward bunker.

-Wrong. I am not causing players to stop. Think about this! You do not need to stop to pick up an ammo pack. All it takes is for a player to run by it and touch it in the process. I have no sign that says "PLEASE STOP IN THE DOORWAY FOR AMMO!!" and I am not using force at all to make people stop. So if they stop in the doorway to pick up ammo, they are the ones breaking the rule and they are the ones that need to be banned. I do not see my fault in this at all.

Example: Teddy is standing to the side of the forward bunker doorway handing out ammo as his teamates run by. Then along comes Freddy and he stands in the doorway to get all the ammo he can get. Teamates can't get through and then Teddy gets kicked for blocking. What did Teddy do? As far as I know, Freddy is the dumbass here.

-The server rule regarding this subject needs to be made more clear. So I am not allowed to stand anywhere near any doorway even if I am not disrupting the flow of traffic through it? I've been here for well over three years and I was here back in the oc48gaming days. Love this server and I have no intention of leaving.

-Sorry for wasting your time on such a lame topic...

p.s. Mrs. B, what do I have to do to be unmuted now? I did as I was told and I brought the discussion off the server and onto the forums.

I muted you because you were arguing. As soon as you join the server again the mute is off.

What was causing the door blocking is people spawning and waiting for the ammo because you were not charged. Farsae also told you yesterday to move elsewhere, like the ladder near the sea wall or outside in the opening of the trenches. No reason to argue, if it was not a problem i wouldn't of said anything. I gave you 10 minutes to see if it would continue and it did and that's when i said something.Do not hand out ammo at the door for it causes door blocking. You have been told, so no need for anymore warnings. You tell me you are on the phone. Then stay in specs if you cannot play while on it. You told Farsae you were on the phone yesterday. He warned you and i warned you and thats the end of it. Thank you

I still don't see where I broke a rule. A new rule needs to be made and made clear.

So then they are the ones blocking the door then, not me. They need to be warned.

I don't recall this...

You didn't break any rules. Not your fault if idiots will wait for you to charge in the doorway. I back you up on that one.

Might be easier to hand it out at the other doorway though..the one at the entrance to the forward bunker.

All i did was ask you to move some where else. Sea breach ladder or you could of stood right inside to door way of the room inside the trenches and handed it out as people ran by, atleast you could of moved inside if people started to block the trenches. But instead you argue with me. Geez..MAA says the same thing and you agree with him? WTH!!! If you see the forward bunker door being blocked, just move.

I tell Lts in pm or in global, all the time to not drop ammo by the doorway, it just clogs it up thats all, 99 percent they get the point, thats how I rule lol.......Just a question Sab, why wouldn't you just stand in the doorway by the little room to the left in the trenches???? Savest spot not to get naded or Panzered, and u would be more useful there????

Sabres, your a great team player! I like you, but if there is one thing in this game that makes me say grrr!

It's lt's/meds either facing each other passing packs back and forth or a teammate just hanging out for the sake of passing packs to passers-by.

I want to see agressive players, not players who stand around with their special weapons out.... umm wait no... unless you special weapon is >7in. by all mean pass it out!

If an admin asks you to move it's basic common courtesy to do it, whether you think you are expressely breaking the rules or not. Go stand in the doorway of the little room halfway down the trences and spam packs from there you smacket :D

Mind you if I remember right I've asked you to move from there loads of times and you've always done it without complaint so maybe she could have asked more nicely :)

Oh and I'm with ch1ck get a gun out people the bad guys aren't gonna kill themselves. Yesterday I dropped into the war room and there were 3 meds in there just running around reviving each other getting shot by just 2 axis who couldn't believe their luck. I just couldn't understand what they were thinking, 'keep moving and maybe they will run out of bullits and beat themselves to death in despair' perhaps?

I could stand there but I don't like to. Everytime I stand there, an airstrike blows me up. Also, when I stand by the forward bunker door, every single one of the allied players walks past there. Not every player goes by the room in the trenches.

I use the little bunker along the trenches. You can get out of the way of the A/S once you hear the sound before the airstrike comes.
And also if the flag whores steal the flag, you're in a better position to take back the flag
