South Park's Big Change
Did anyone see the South Park episode this week about Chef? I thought it was pretty funny how they dealt with Isaac Hayes' descision on leaving the show.
***SPOILERS***
Here are a few things I got a kick out of.
- I love that they used sound clips from other shows for his voice. I noticed it very early on, when he said a line I recognized from "Anal Probe".
- I loved when the "Super Adventure Club" was explaining their philosophy, there was the disclaimer across the screen saying "This is really what the Super Adventure Club believes" -- exactly like the Scienetology epidose that caused Isaac Hayes to leave.
- I thought it was great that they offered no chance for Isaac to come back as Chef. I mean... they really did a number on him with getting set on fire, dropped from a bridge, bashing on some jagged rocks, impaled with a tree, and torn apart by a mountain lion and a bear.
Yeah they had the Darth Vader rebuild sequence but I don't think they'll ever do anything with him (Chef/Hayes) again.

Too bad. Chef was one of my favorite characters.

Clint Eastwood (Munny): Hell of a thing, killin' a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.
Jaimz Woolvett (The Schofield Kid): Yeah, well, I guess he had it comin'.
Clint Eastwood (Munny): We all got it comin', kid.

heard .... not sure if its ture. That Issac had some type of stroke? and while he was recovering the scienology folk took it upon THEMSELVES to deal him out of the series..... seems kinda remote, snice this whole deal has been very publisizedfor the last couple weeks. I would be hard to beleive that he heard nothing about this happening. anyways.. .thats all i know.

Yeah I really liked Chef too. He was one of the only characters they haven't gone totally insane with (like Mr./Mrs. Garrison) though the whole Scottish aspect of him was strange.
Hopefully they'll patch up their differences.
I hadn't heard of it before, but it seems that the stroke thing is very true, or at least I've seen it in a few places. Here's 2:

I don't know what to believe.
Now I'm being told that the whole stroke thing was blown out of proportion. Hayes did go into the hospital but it was for stress-related issues, and he did send the press release that announced he was leaving the show.
I think he was pressured into leaving the show by the Scientology people.
