Far Cry sequel

Postby =ender= » Thu Apr 20, 2006 3:25 pm

A sequel to Far Cry is in the works, if you didn't know already, and it's to be named CRYSIS. At least that's its name right now. I know a lot of you enjoy other FPS games aside from RtCW and the BF series, so I thought you'd like to see some really amazing looking screens. Hope this isn't a repost:

All I can say is WOW. Those jungle shots look goooooooooooood. I wonder if it will take a super computer to get it to look like that.

I was wondering that too. I guess it's not a true sequel, per se. Consider it another game from Crytek, the makers of Far Cry. Here's some more information about what the new CryENGINE 2 should be capable of doing: http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3147944

Wow. I was thinking of buying a new video card. Guess I'll hold off a few months and see what the new crop of games coming out need to run and to see if any new hardware comes out to support it.

Edit: I sure hope it supports multiplayer. It would be a shame to have this only be single player. The movies are hella good too!

Man... and I stil have to play the 1st one. It should be $5 now, right? Maybe I'll go get it.

Some of those head shots remind me of the UT2K7 previews I saw.

I can honestly say that the Graphics viewed in Far Cry are the best you will see in any PC Game. That is IF you have the Card to play it at the HIGH settings. I know everyone taunts the "water quality" thing, but this game has about the best in that catagory. If Crysis is "anything" like Far Cry was, this WILL BE the game to get!

I never played the first one. Is it like Doom3, a steady stream of stupid monsters either running at you, or popping out from behind you? Doom3 really threw me off SP FPS, but I'd like to play a decent one at some point. The last decent SP FPS games I've played were RTCW and MOH:AA.

I personally cannot compare it to Doom 3, because I don't have it, but I can tell you that Far Cry has a great story to tell and YOU are right in the middle of it. I have enjoyed it so much that I have ran throught it at least 3 times, just to see the things that I missed the last time I went through it. And it is absolutely NO short game, this game comes with 5-6 disks to install, and will keep your interest for at least 18-20 hours of gameplay.
