command and conquer 3

yeah, I was expecting this at some point but this soon is wow. I am a die hard fan of the Command and Conquer series of games, and I bought C&C the first decade and in their Bonus material stuff they kind of hint towards developing a game as they spoke. My only hope is that they don't EA (or F'up) the game. They have a lot to prove in order to produce a Westwood Studios type game. Last I heard only 1/3 of the original Westwood Studios staff is currently still chosing to work for EA. I will buy it reguardless, but they better make it right otherwise the games may die along with Westwood Studios.

Finally i have waiting for this for ages, after the disappointment of generals, which was quite good, but as good as it should have been. The question is though, will they return to good old days of kicking commie ass like in red alert 2, or do another generals? Thats what annoyed me so much, that at the end of the campaigns in generals: zero hour, u have china as replacing america as dominant world power, which pissed me off something royal.

I loved Red Alert pill boxes, tesla coils and the Naval forces!!! in my opinion the only problem was that the AI would never build naval forces of its own.
never did the tiberian sun, and thought the yuri series was a little too cartoonish?
Generals was on track with rappling troops, flash bangs, chinese firestorms, atomic bombs, suicide bikes, raptor jets and MOAB's!!!
My question is ... anyone ever see the similarities between BF2 and C&C Generals (at least in the armies)?

Will it have the bloke from navy seals ham acting his way through the game? The bad acting was the best bit of the game

Red Alert was my favorite. I think as they made more they have gotten worse. Just like the Bond games for console systems. Goldeneye was the best game ever made for N64 and each new Bond has gotten worse in my opinion.

One the first red alert i would build a line of tesla coils right into the enemy base. My favourite stratergy is static defences with airpower, on Generals i would build massive 3 layers thick of patriot missiles in a checkered formation (laser ones worked better coz they link up and support each other). Whilst this is being built i get a couple of airfields and build a couple of aurora bombers which i would use to hinder the enemy and keep them lightly supressed. Now funds will start to become an issue so i slow down the building of my defences so i can build at least 9 supply drop pads for a reliable source of income i complete my defences and build a couple more airfields one with raptors to patrol and the rest with auroras followed by an increase in intensity of my bombing runs, normally i would have 12 auroras, launched in pairs, 6 attacks, paced so that as the final one leaves as the first one has reloaded, attacking defences on the outside and clearing a path. All this time i have building a force of tanks and/or commanches to punch throught this hole, which then break through and annihilate thier base.
Its a risky stratergy vunerable to attacks by tunnel that takes time and money to impliment, but i have to since im no good at rushing. Wow i really got carried away there.

Remeber though that the Tiberium was poisonous to unprotected soldiers... if you remember correctly that if you put a soldier in a tiberium field he would soon die from the exposure. So being in the future since then I would imagine they implemented something to protect the soldiers.
Also, yeah I wasn't ever very good at rushing either, because if you rush then you don't get to play with the technology that takes some time to get. It also makes the game not as fun. at least IMO.

i was never big into rushing either, build up a stronge defence, then build a massive crushing army. gott love it.
tibirian sun was really cool, after the first red alert it was my favorite.
i found that i could never really get into generals for some reason. maby because it was pitting nation against nation and i really like the allies vs the soviets.
and i agree, GDI always kickes ass.
