I'll probably end up sending the child to some hard-core parochial or private school. I don't have a problem with teachers laying the smackdown, as well as actually teaching something besides diversity, revisionist history, or self-esteem math (2+2=5 is almost right. you get a star).
Fortunately I didn't have to deal with much of this, but I do remember in elementary school learning that we were fearing global cooling and the near-depletion of world oil supplies by the late 1990s.
Stephanie, thank you for you kind words.
Wrist, you tempt me to put back up The Avatar. Even worse, you tempt The Avatar. He will not be toyed with. His anger is far-reaching. Oh, the anger...

Besides, those tanks have been rolling across your posts for too long now... variety is good...![]()
I wish I could, but my router is messed up for some reason, so only have internet thru my wife's computer (it's a box with wire compared to mine). Can't connect to my computer without the router right now. Hopefully I'll find out that the cat was playing with the wires and it will be an easy fix. Need to fix it soon though, I miss Wolfe! Although I have been recently playing Fallout Tactics for the first time, so I haven't missed Wolfe too much.

It's fun blasting Super Mutants in St. Louis!
BTW, the tanks are my salute right now to the brave men and women overseas, so the picture stays up, at least for the time being.
I very much appreciate all the kind words and thoughts expressed toward my impending fatherhood. Thanks everybody!
Another round!!!!!

Wick, I'm going to OTC here in Springfield then probably transfering to SMSU if we don't move somewhere else.
BTW, how was your vacation(or have you taken it yet?)?
Sorry I didn't reply to this sooner, I missed it for some reason. Yes, my girlfriend and I did take our vacation to the Ozarks, just the other week. The vacation went pretty well, all things considered. We had some car trouble on the way down and ended up being stuck in the cabin for the first couple of days while the car was at a mechanic. Unfotunately, the nearest town only had one rental car, and it was taken. However, once we got transportation established, things got a lot better. We saw Eureka Springs and loved it, just as you predicted. We did some hiking and a little caving down near Ponca. The Ozarks were really beautiful and the roads were straight out of a video game. The only thing that kept my sports car and I from obtaining numerous speeding tickets were the constant looks of disapproval from my girlfriend. The trip did have a perfect ending: I got to watch my Jayhawks defeat Duke in the Sweet Sixteen on our last night there. Oddly enough, ended up getting chased outside in the dark by some stranger shortly thereafter. But that's another story, and would get us even further off topic. Thanks for all the information you provided about the area.

Geez, I had to get a hardhat and a flashlight to find this thread.
Just an update (mostly for parents, etc. that enjoy this stuff): last week we found out we're having a girl.
I'm very happy and excited to have a little girl, but angered knowing that there will undoubtedly be young men in the future who will have to die.
