how to restore old ATI Catalyst drivers.
i just installed the catalyst 6.6 drivers and am having some problems that are much worse than the minor things i was hoping they would fix, the main one is that it takes over an hour to boot up my system now. if anyone knows how to restore the last drivers i had installed please let me know.
and for some reason my system restore can't be turned on so that option is out.
thanks alot.

An hour to boot? Damn that drive screwed you! The latest Catalyst drivers seem to be giving my old PC refresh problems, sorta like you see with the stock VGA driver on Windows where things (especially webpages) render in a way that seems.. skippy? Then again, video card drivers really aren't needed for a PC that isn't used to play games.
Try to boot to safe mode and uninstall the ATI drivers.

Got any restore points?

I see I'm not the only one having problems with ATI drivers, that makes me feel a little better. It seems like every time I uninstall then reinstall the drivers I have problems. I usually end up reformatting my drive! Yikes! Since this is the case I don't uninstall them very often.
I can install the new drivers with no problem, however they don't "fix" the problems I currenlty have. (no TV on my AIW card and "tearing") I'm not sure if the tearing is because of the LCD monitor (I've always had a CRT before) or the drivers. Somehow I don't think it's the LCD monitor, otherwise I would hear lots of people complaining about it.
That being said, I would be interested in a good way to remove/reinstall ATI drivers without having to reformat my drives!
Mugzy, I haven't looked at your link... going there now.

nope, for some reason my system restore is turned off and i can't turn it on again.
it seems to have sorta fixed it self as far as i can tell, startups are only alittle longer than they where before now.
not really sure if i want to screw with it now that its working or not.
