Vista is a trainwreck before it has even come out. They had to abandon the 3 main concepts that were the original reason for creating it in the first place: WinFS filesystem, Trusted Computing Platform, and replacing BIOS with EFI.
All three concepts were put on hold.
Microsoft needs to seriously reevaluate their whole business model, IMHO.
They are spreading themselves too thin, getting away from the things that make them money: Windows and Office.
They lost 4 billion dollars on the first generation of Xbox, now they want to create an 'Ipod killer', an Itunes killer. They dumped money trying to take the tax software market at one point. They need to stop thinking that they have to dominate every form of commerce known to man and just stick with the things they have success with.
