Hey fellas have a hard time getting Fun_Beach map working

Postby OSPREY » Sun Apr 13, 2003 12:31 pm

I installed the pak into the main folder directory and everytime i start the map it looks like its almost done then i get this error message :( Local file exists with wrong checksum ). Any ideas ? Id appeciate it.

Error message: "Couldn't load maps/fun_beach.bsp"

Postby DiesToEasy » Sun Apr 13, 2003 12:47 pm

The rest of the error message is as follows: "The following packs are missing: main/fun_beach.pk3 (local file exists with wrong checksum)"

I was running this map earlier @ 1:00 a.m. (Central Standard Daylight Savings Time) 4/13/03.

I tried playing the same map this morning @ 11:00 a.m. I got in but then then it kicked me out and switched me to the old Beach map whihc played fine for about 3 minutes. That disconnected me from the server.

Now all I get is the error message.

OS: W2K Pro
CPU: AMD 1 GHz Thunderbird
Vid: Geforce2 GTS 64 Meg

What do I need to do to fix this?

Also is there a linux (slackware tarball) version of RTCW?

Figured it out

Postby Weasel Meat » Sun Apr 13, 2003 5:24 pm

I think I figured it out.

Looks like the file size has changed.

The file now is larger than the file installed before.

To get the new file type this in the console and reconnect. /cl_allowdownloads 1

Or click Here to download the file. Extract it and place the pk3 file in your main directory.

Replace the existing file if it asks.

Some one try this and post back if it works
