I have great respect for the Wii for one reason: Nintendo makes a profit on each unit it sells, right from day one.
Microsoft lost 4 billion dollars on the first Xbox, who knows how much Sony will lose on the PS3 (they have quite a big loss per unit sold) before cost reductions, game licenses allow them to turn the corner.
I agree with JT though, nothing beats a PC for gaming. More power and upgradeable.

PC gaming is probably the most expensive gaming platform there is. It is funny to see people blow a couple thousand on a computer dedicated to gaming then turn around and call a console "expensive".

right dark.... I dont game as much on my pc as I do in console. Probably cuz I dont game very much and like to just sit in the garage and play video games without anyone buggin me. So console games are more attractive to me as I can play them away from the wife who watches tv inside the house. :-)

I don't make fun of consoles for being expensive, I make fun of them for *losing* money on each unit they sell, hoping to make the money back someday if/when they dominate the market. That's a strategy I'll mock everyday of the week and twice on Sundays.

Wii on the other hand if profitable on each unit, smart thinking in my opinion.
