Your current fav song/artist
After watching the office (us version) I heard a song by james Blunt, goodbye my lover, so i went to Musicmatch and listened to it and it is a pretty good tune. If you just broke up with your g/f, dont listen to it as it will turn you into a blithering idiot prolly.
But it is a nice change of pace, chill song. He's got some other good tunes, nice relax music. Also musicmatch gives you artist match artists. Jack Johnson is pretty cool too.
Not my normal style of music, I have a wide variety of interests but usually not my style but i gotta say lately I dig it.

Im alot more modern than you guys, i mainly like Indie rock, my favourite band are "The Automatic", i don't think you would have heard of them in America, my favourite song is by them, "Recover". Most of what i like is British Indie. I also like a bit of late 70's punk rock, The Clash, The Buzzcocks.

I dont think its fair to say to pick 'one' band. I think music strikes you in different ways as you get older.
I've said at different times that
Art Alexakis (Everclear) was my favorite artist. His early music was rough and very personal about drug use, interatial relationships, suicide lost loves. But as the more popular he became, the music went in the way of 'pop' where as his last top 40 song was 'volvo driving soccer mom' i beleive.
I would have to say my current favorite is Doug Martsch in the band (built to spill)

i love early 90's rock/grunge, Faith no More and A in C being my favorites. as of late i've been getting into more indie rock and dirty rock (some of the shit that has come out of the detroit seen like dirtbombs, john spencer, etc.). Over the Past week the album i've been into is "the night of the bewilderbeast" by badly drawn boy, it's a bit on the soft side but really good.

If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit.
