R/C Plane makes TransAtlantic flight
Pretty cool, I read about this today (although happened a few years ago)
Some guy from Maryland launched a 5-foot model airplane equiped with GPS, onboard computer autopilot, and telemetry transmitter and managed to make a flight from Newfoundland to Ireland--1900 miles!

Hopefully not some guy thinking "Hmmmm, with a six foot plane carrying a pound of plastic explosives......"

Seriously though, I love what ordinary people aspire to do with their free time. The world is filled with some very smart cookies who just never had the chance to do something great.
