Colts/Pats Manning/Brady

Postby Conscious* » Mon Jan 15, 2007 1:02 am

Pick your winner, and pick the better QB.

I'm taking the Patriots and Brady. The Patriots beat a Chargers team with an equally good offense as the Colts, and only gaining roughly 50 yards rushing. The Colts, even though they stopped the Ravens, won't stop the Patriots run game more then the Chargers, and Brady won't throw 3 picks. If they can beat the Chargers throwing for 3 picks and rushing for 50 yards, and Brady playing bad until the end of each half, I believe Belichick will walk them into another Superbowl.

Damn tough to beat the Pats, even if you're better than them on paper. They just have the knack of winning.

As much as I'd love to see the Pats win, I'm almost convinced Indy will win. They have to win. They have too much to lose, they've lost too many times before and Adam Vinatieri gives them a weapon that no other team has. If they lose again, they will be known as the biggest chokers this side of the 2004 Yankees.

All Manning has to do is get to the Pats' 40 yard line and they're a threat. 3rd and 20, 3rd and 24? Not a big deal.

It's an amazing rivalry. It's seen every possible twist, every possible incantation. Our field, Their field. Snow. Inside. Crappy kicker. Great kicker.

That being said, I do think the Pats can win. They have the experience, they don't choke and Manning has the ultimate pressure on him.

But, I'll say Indy; 27-20. Vinatieri will have 3 or more FGs and the Pats will regret letting Adam V. go.

The one move I think Belichick was wrong in doing was letting Viantieri go. Branch and Givens wasn't as bad but I have to say Gostkowski has so far been solid.

Nothing against Gostkowski at all, he seems like a reliable kicker...he's just unproven.

Adam V., in my mind, is THE most valuable weapon a team can have. Bar none.

There are some politics behind why he left. The Pats were ready to counter-offer the Colts offer but Vinatieri never retruned the Pats' call. I'm thinking Adam wanted, not only more money, but a new challenge. Who can blame him?

It's going to be a tough pill to swallow seeing him run a ice-dagger through the Patriots next Sunday.

The first super bowl the pats played in (against rams) I was totally for them...Rams were the powerhouse and the pats were the under dogs...i was happy for the pats...

This season the pats came into Green Bay, Favre went down before halftime... the backup broke his foot but continued to play... with one of the MOST recognizable NFL QB's in the past decade on the bench and the score already pushing blowout Belichick had his starts (brady) still in the game... that pissed me off. I hope belickick gets a joe paterno tackle this next week and brady get some aikman/young type concussion hits.. oh and the colts win... that would be sweet

btw.. .wtf is up with his homeless hermit look... have a little class and spend $500 of multi-million dollar contract you have and guy some suits Image

Took the words out of my mouth. As much as I would like to say that the Colts are going to win, I look at their opponent and it is New England. I can't go against New England again and be wrong. So this time I am calling the Pats and Brady.

Belichick is one of the best coaches in NFL history, I don't think you need to criticize the guy when it's 20 degrees in NE in January and he's calling plays from the sideline for not wearing a suit.

Belichick is a true historian of the game. He respects the game, and most of all he respects the men who play the game.

He was toying with the idea of wearing a suit on the sidelines during a game this season (he talked about it with the local radio station who interview him weekly). I believe Jacksonville's coach actually did that this season, and I commend him for it. Belichick is so anti-self-promotion, he didn't want to draw any attention to himself during any game.

The guy is as efficient and as respectful to the game as there can be. Does he have personal issues with some people; of course he does...but it's the game he lives for.

Read two books to learn more; Patriot Reign and Education of a Coach. It's Bill Parcel who is the classless, self-promoting loud-mouth who get more attention than he deserves.

Interestingly, the days of well-dressed coaches on the sidelines have been supplanted by the almighty dollar. Reebok has had a marketing agreement with the league since 1993 that requires the coaches to wear team-issued sideline gear (something else to sell to the masses) made by Reebok. When Jack Del Rio and Mike Nolan wore suits on the sideline this past season, they required special authorization from the NFL to do so, as well as having the suits made by Reebok.

Belichek didnt win squat before Brady, I'm not saying he isnt a good coach but when you win you are a genius, when you lose all of a sudden you have no idea what you are doing.

How many coached a year or 2 removed from a championship have been fired? I guess I am kind of rooting for the colts.

Yes the Pats are a good team and I hope they bust the Colts all the way to Indy. indy played a hell of a game against Baltimore and the #1 defense in the NFL. My hat has to go to New England or anyone who plays the damn Colts.

4 Overtimes game is a stalemate. They both get kicked out of the chase. Choose a wild card.
