Just wondering if anyone plays Starcraft

I actually do occasionally play starcraft. Sometimes me and a friend will hook up via VPN type network and set up a multiplayer game, him and me vs 4 computer opponents.
I'm always amazed that Blizzard just walked away from the Starcraft franchise like that. They could have come up with a new version--just updated graphics, maybe a new race and some new units. It would be money in the bank.
