So true. No better sport to go see live.

the attendance in Pittsburgh has been phenominal this year 11 of our last 12 games have been complete sell outs. the only one that was not a sell out was only a few hundred shy and earlier that day we got hit with a ton of snow. last year we were the #1 team in increased attendance % at about 30%.
but i think moving the all star game to versus was a HUGE mistake on the NHL's part. if i remember correctly i think the ratings were down 70% or so. which is due to the fact that Versus, i believe is not on any major cable/satalite plan except Comcast. And even for comcast it is a "deluxe" type of package.
the next biggest change that i am worrying about is now that Rebok is a partner with the NHL they are trying to get rid of the hockey sweater for this new fangled "RBK EDGE" style jersey.

Despite the sight of thousands of empty seats in some arenas, the NHL said 3,193,093 fans attended 187 games in January posting a per-game average of 17,075 -- the highest in the league's 89-year history
I know Boston's attendance is at 80% of capacity. If I had to guess, I'd say someone is playing with the books a bit

Yeah you guys were loud last night when souray got his 7 minute penalty. Its nice to see other towns that get that loud, it reminded me of the playoffs.
And I agree about the jerseys. There better not be a drastic change in the jerseys for MTL, cause the habs are not the habs without the CH...that would be like blasphmey or something wouldn't it?

80%??? Pulease...the owner of the Bruins had every other seat painted black about five years ago, with the express purpose of hiding all the empty seats.
Jeremy Jacobs is the biggest boob among professional sports team owners as there is. Every time he comes on the local radio station to spout his "Bagdad Bob" routine about everything being great with the Bruins my spine wants to crinkle up in a ball.
Jeremy, please sell the team. You suck. Drop dead. Thank you.

that is what happens when you move the all star game to the middle of the week on a network that nobody gets or even watches.

I concur!! I watch mine on my HD wide screen 60" toshiba. It is awesome! Makes you get sick when the game's not televised in HD and you see the difference.
Note: Football is great in HD as well.
I think the new uniforms are going to be fine. Like Sabres said, not too many changes. Just better for the players to wear. They may seem a little tighter, etc. I read that the wind drag is reduced a significant percentage when skating fast by tests they performed.

thanks to Spirit of Me for the sig!
