For those wondering wtf these guys are talking about, 4 years ago there were two different communities (and providers): OC48gaming (Battlefield players) and ECGN (RTCW and other weird people like Evan and Bocephus). Then OC48 bought ECGN and the two merged (there can be only one!) under the ECGN name and Chacal strode in and Evan came to live under the server room floor and there was much rejoicing.

Bf42.com? Don't know what you're talking about. Never heard of it.

bf42.com was THE original battlefield 1942 resource center and had a huge community. It was then bought out and became FPS gamers or something like that..then it just sort of died. Not sure why though, I remember the community was huge and it seemed like they had a nice site going.

As for the topic at hand, its sad to see the server part of ECGN dying, though I knew it was going to happen as there just didn't seemed to be that many people buying servers and the server list kept getting smaller.

Still I'm glad that community will stay, and hopefully grow stronger.

In my first post I forgot to mention that when I say "public servers", I'm talking about public BF* servers. I have no idea what happens to the Beach server but I'm sure MAA has taken care of it.

I've started migrating the BF2 pubs to their new boxes!

[Voice of Crocodile Dundee]You call that a progress bar? THIS is a progress bar!
