I don't think Americans are dumb but I do think a larger proportion of them are willfully ignorant of the world outside their nations borders than in most other developed countries. The guys in these videos that know nothing about the outside world probably aren't stupid so much as they are lazy and arrogant (we're number one so why bother to care about anyone else type of thing). Not that we don't have more than out fair share of people like that over here as well, we call them chavs, I point and laugh at them as well.

Parrot you must get beaten up alot I was down Brighton Marina Friday night and there was a group of 10 year old chavs, 4 girls 2 boys, and one the security guards for the casino they were near came up to them and asked them to move, and they so nearly squared up to him, proves how dumb they really are.

That's the part that makes me hate them. They're not brain damaged, they have literally made a choice to be stupid. At some point in life, their people/culture/demographic group...whatever, decided to shift their beliefs in what they value away from standard things toward other attributes. They think the loftiest ambition in life is to be honest/hardworking/religious (like the basic redneck) or tough/cool (like too many groups to mention, but Chavs for example).

Once meeting these goals, all other goals are pointless. In fact, they view being smart as kind of a 'sin', for lack of a better word.

Like I say, they are stupid by choice, and proud of it. They'll tell you right to your face. I've known normal people who were lazy and didn't hit the books. They are at least embarassed when they don't know basic things.

imo, They have literally made a choice to be uninformed.
To them things that happen around the world that have no apparent effect
on them are not worth learning or remembering.
