not a bad price, its a good tv....i've been trying to vulture a decent used one on craigslist, just like a 27 inch lcd to game on. One I can move around at my liking to the garage or in the house if it gets too hot.

Keep aspect ratio in mind. You're used to 4x3, this tv is 16x9. Basically what would change for you while watching older 4x3 stuff (which most programming still is) is the height of the picture. In other words, a 27" widescreen would show 4x3 material in a slightly smaller picture than your old 27" 4x3--with black pillar bars on either side. A 34" 16x9 TV is the same height as a 27" 4x3. They don't make 34", so the next step up is 37". If you can find a 37" that's in your budget, that's probably the best way to go.
Hopefully I explained that coherently. If not a 37", than a 32" is a real close match for a 27" 4x3.

yeah that makes sense, let me ask you somethin about lcd flat screens, will it be like a laptop (in the sense that at a certain angle it will be blurry?)

it shouldnt be, we have lcd's at work 42 or 44 inch that we use for monitoring and they are good from practically a 90 degree angle.

Im still trolling for a used 22-24 inch lcd monitor that I can use for 360 in the garage or anywhere in the house that I slap it down....

The view angle for LCD's vary from model to model. It is usually a published specification.
