Max,
I liked the Demo, nice ending at the boat! Considering it for xmas. Too bad they did not include a Multiplayer level too. This way you can get a better feel for it.

But the fact that it is an EA product is giving me the Willies...;) But using the dual pistols in close up fights was

I played the game. Start with the good I suppose..

I sort of consider this game (single player) to be really 2 games stuck together. 2 halves of a game don't make a complete game unfortunately. I would give the first half of the game the best score possible, and then some. If the scale were up to 10, it would get a 20 from me. It's the best shooter I've ever played to date and I've played a lot. I consider the the previous best shooters I ever played to be Half Life, HL2, and CS:S. BF2 was great for other reasons, like the vehicles, aircraft and community [all you guys:)].

The second half of the game was Lame. Capital L. I especially hated the end. Pretty much anything that had to do with aliens sucked ass imo. It was like a completely different game at the end. Did I mention how much I hated the ending? UGH! I would give the second half of the game probably a 6/10 and maybe lower. Definitely lower for the ending. It's very Call of Duty-ish and what I think of as typical gameplay for a console game. More action than first person shooter stuff. Well, it's not exactly fair to say the last half of the game entirely.. but close enough.

There are a few buggy things in the game. I was suprised to see them there because so much of the game was so perfect and polished and some of this stuff would have been impossible to miss. I won't mention what they are right now because I don't want to spoil anything for anyone playing or going to play this game. But hopefully they patch it soon.

I also have some nit-picking stuff... Like, some WAY underpowered weapons. I shot an enemy soldier in the head 4 times with a Gauss rifle and he killed me. In the head. I saw his hat fly off, his head move, his body jerk on each hit so I know I didn't miss and I reloaded and repeated it about 5 times.. because the @#$@#$ kept killing me after being shot in the head 4 TIMES! LOL damn hacking North Koreans! On the up side of weapons though is they SOUND @#$@#$ AWESOME. I LOVE the sound in this game. The grenade that went off near you may not have killed you but it's sure to make you change your underwear.

I played the game on the second to hardest possible. I will go back and play it on hardest but it won't be much fun. I had a really tough time playing the game on my pc. I had most of the settings low or medium at best and 1024.. at some places I had to lower it to 800 :(. I have not tried multiplayer and I'm not sure when I will get a chance to do so.. I need better hardware to play multiplayer, but I expect it to be a lot of fun.

OMG, PA rises from the ashes... I agree the demo ending was abrupt and scripted.

PA, come and join us on Vent some night.

Hello and hello! :)

Alright, I'll try and remember to get on there one of these nights.

And I was talking about the full game, the whole enchillada, not the demo. I never played the demo.

But yeah, heavily scripted and not allowing for freedom of movement in a game irks me.

Scripted scenerios where you're not allowed to flank and arcade like action don't appeal to me. I've played games like that I couldn't even finish. I can't recall the name of the game I have in mind.. It is on a frozen world and you have to kill monsters for heat. Played it for 10 minutes and deleted it. Some were so bad I couldn't really enjoy them. I finished cod4 but it was really annoying. Some nice scenery and I loved the gunning from the plane, but the rest of it sucked gameplay wise.

I also forgot to mention that you shake like a Parkinson's patient when you go to scope. It's horrible and the worst shaking I can remember seeing. I suppose they did it partially because the AI can't react properly if you're beyond a certain distance but it felt artificial and contrived. In real life going prone and using the environment to steady your aim would help and in many cases eliminate that shake. Not in the game though.. at least no way that I discovered.
