* Release in late 2008
* Powered by “Frostbite DX”
* Set in year modern day (just like BF2, ed.)
* Will ship with 8 maps, each supporting up to 40-players per team
* Two playable factions, NATO and MEC (Middle Eastern Coalition)
* Same “ticket-based” gameplay style as before
* Maps are mostly urban, based in Middle East

* Five playable classes; Sniper, Assault, Engineer, Medic and Support
* Will feature 48 different vehicles (24 for each faction)
* Will feature 34 different weapons (17 for each faction) and another 22 unlocks (for both factions), in total 56 different weapons.
* Other unlocks include different types of ammunition, body armor, helmets, camouflage and accessories.
* Possible public beta in “Summer 2008″
* Online stats tracking, awards and “real world ranks”

I wonder if it is really gonna include all that!! If so, I bet half of that list will be broken when released and will require a good amount of patches to correct.

Guns, And More Guns
Every soldier needs a weapon, and Battlefield 3 will be chock full of firearms, 34 in fact, split evenly between the MEC and NATO. You'll have to work for the privilege of sporting the most powerful rifles. As well as weapons, you'll unlock armour, ammo, helmets and accessories.

I don't like the idea of high ranking people getting powerful guns, kind of messes up the balance. Oh well I guess.

The trimming of content continues. 8 maps. I doubt all of the maps will be good so you are looking at 5 to 6 good maps. I don't like that.

EA will probably milk the cash cow by offering additional map packs for $10 for a set of 5 or so maps.

Sounds kinda similar to 2 to me. All the extra vehicles means is there is more for them to f*ck up. Guaranteed at least 5 of them will have some glitch that makes them massively overpowered... Black Hawks anyone?

Besides which it's only a matter of time before EA tries to pull a WoW and make it pay to play...
