Key word is almost. Maybe it was easier to "port" games from PS2 and Xbox to PC but I don't think that will be the case with PS3 and 360. The graphics and sheer size of the playing area of GTA is too much for a good computer to handle, at least I think so. But like you said I don't too much about this stuff.

I was talking to a friend at work about which is better, console or PC. I told him I think console is better because you never have to keep upgrading it for newer games. Everytime a new game comes out on PC you need this much more ram, this sound card, and the latest and best graphics card out on the market. Graphics for 360 haven't even been pushed to their max yet and they are still amazing.

Yea, and I bought Madden for the computer once...that will never happen again.

ummm maybe if it was circa 92 when u had to upgrade everything to play the next greatest game, a computer that is 3 years old can play the top greatest games out now, the best part is I spent 1500 for the best computer that will last maybe 5 years, console update almost every year, so lets say every year you upgrade to the next greastest console, prob spent 2400 in 5 years, not including the games for that console, the best part of my pc is I can play railroad tycoon 1 from a 3.5 floppy circa '90

the prob is the newest GTA would work, put they got all their money from the console suckers, so they spend very little time or money porting it over well, so your right GTA might not work well because not the my pc couldn't handle it, but because after the code sucks ass

My friend at work and I have the console battle all the time, he has the 360 as well

My specs, with upgrade potential

why spend that money that will be obselete in 2 years

Hardcore gamers may not, but everyone else does. Look at The Sims franchise.

Remember that "hardcore" gamers compromise 10-15% of people who play video games, if that.

I still need to pick this up cause it looks great, and multiplayer looks like fun.

I like the console way better. I will never play a game on the PC again. And slaughter, you talked about upgrading the console every year. What the heck are you talking about? You buy it once and never have to touch it for 5-7 years. I think you have things ass backwards buddy.

Microsofts console will slowly take over online gaming, you watch and see. There is too much that the system offers for people not to be attracted to it. I go on the computer to browse the web and do work. The console is for gaming and entertainment. I think you're also forgetting that consoles are made purely for gaming. While computers take on many other functions. And I could give two hoots about alienware computers and etc., because it's still a freaking computer. Games always continue to advance on computers ALL the time which requires most people to upgrade. In that 5-7 year period of owning a console you never have to upgrade and the games are made to function within the consoles abilities.

360 > PC

Why does your computer have upgrade potential? Because the games in a year won't function smoothly on it? You said you don't have to upgrade it but then say it has the potential to be upgraded.

just download san andreas and you're good to go. there is no cd key so that's not a problem. it's how probably 90% of the multiplayer players get the game.

 yeah I could do it that way, its not a bad idea.

I was thinking more about the console version. I already have the first one on PC and didn't play it too much. I'd rather get it for the XBox360 for when my friends come over we can just pick it up and play. Otherwise I would buy it for the PC.

Last night was funny, I felt like I was in a real police chase(being the police). Of course with a SMG hanging out the window shooting at the crooks in their car trying to make it to the speed boat(or helicopter) to get away. Racing through the city was great, just watching as all the pedestrian cars dodge out of the way when the cop caar comes by with the sirens blaring. The crook in the passenger seat was firing back at us with his pistol. Finally after about 3 minutes of chase the crook driver made too wide of a turn and smashed into a building giving me time to get right on their butt and I shot the driver through the back windshield when he got caught up on some scafolding.
A glorious victory for the boys in blue. Only about 30-40 pedestrians harmed.

Kdawg beat the game already he said it better the second time through cause u get to chose who you want to kill and who u dont. My favorite online games is the gta or just regular race. cop and crooks is fun if you got a group of people that know what they are doing.

Best console game I have ever played/seen in my lifetime. My rooomate at college bought it for XBox360 and the thing was never turned off for a few days. Having the game in HD makes it unbelievable. The graphics are stunning. Just driving through the city and seeing how everything is alive and moving amazes me. Gunfire is the most realistic I have ever seen it in a console game. Blood isn't rediculous, it is just right. Drive too fast and smash into a wall, watch yourself fly through the windshield and hit the wall leaving a little bit of blood where your head may have hit. When entering or exiting a building, there is no loading time like in the previous games of the series, and if you watch closely, your eyes adjust to the light when you exit a dark building on a sunny day. Sewer grates in the streets give off steam. Drive a boat and the water comes to life. Fly a helicopter low to water and the effects are so realistic. Cops are tough to escape at times. When you have a wanted level, there is a circle area around you that you have to escape to lose the cops. The higher your wanted the level, the farther you have to race away because the circle is bigger. The gatling gun in the police helicopter really hurts and actually kills in this game, it was weak in San Andreas. Car damage is in a lot more detailed and if a car gets too damaged, it may stall on you. No longer does a locked car mean you can't drive it, like in San Andreas. In GTA IV, a quick smash of the window and a hotwire will get any car driving. Multiplayer in tons of fun. My favorite is cops 'n' crooks. Its always an adrenaline rush running through Times Square from a few of your friends chasing you in the cop car.

I'm simply blown away by this game. The attention to detail is unbelievable. At college a few of my friends that are from Manhattan can actually drive through the city without looking at the compass map in the lower left! hahaha
