It's all good. I go by the honor system when I play and I'm upfront and honest about everything. You guys seem to operate under different terms, and that's okay.

After awhile you have to ask yourselves why so many *former* competition players that converse on these forums or play with you guys bunt heads so often with the non-former-competition players. There's a pattern, no?

As for my not being one of the big boys? That's fine by me if that's indeed what you are. I don't want to play your games; you disgust me. Don't think I blindly rushed in to support a clanmate. While that would be noble in and of itself, I look at the arguments and the posts to determine where I stand. You will sometimes be shown that I agree with what they have to say, but only they will know when I disagree with what they have said.

What it looks like to me is that you are blindly supporting Ding. Your rationale is beyond basic reasoning, it is outside the bounds of common-sense, and it is way too grade-level for me.

As for the competitive viewpoint, If you aren't being currently paid to play this game, then just say it and move on.

I personally don't have to ask myself that question. Yes it has been a pattern and I think I've always had it figured out. Long ago alot of us chose ecgn as our home for wolf. For whatever reason these players chose to play here instead of playing another server or osp. Me personally I never had the time due to work. But I always made enough time to come and have some fun on the server.

I have enjoyed watching the servers life over the years. At first there was alot of noobs, over time the server turned into a mix of good players and noobs and now for years there has been the mix of great and good players still mixed with the noobs. Throughout all of this the server has been pretty much ran the same way. As clans died and servers vanished our server got an influx of people. I was happy to see new faces and even more players on the server but with it came some problems.

I would have to imagine that if, say, two years ago ecgn stopped existing I know I would be pissed. I have no doubt I would continue playing wolf but I would have to find another server that not only lived up to my expectations but also felt familiar to what I was used to. I know that no other server could ever do that for me. I imagine I might frequent the new server and bitch and moan to try to get stuff changed to the way I'm used to things. Eventually I think I would come to the conclusion that the new server outlasted my old server and maybe there is a reason.

I sympathize with the transplants on the server but in the grand scheme of things we oldschool ecgn players won the grand prize while the transplants get a nice consolation gift of wolf, maybe just not the wolf they are used to. Bottom line this is our server, we have always run it this way and it's still here. So please by all means come in, have fun, chill a bit and I will see you on the beach!! Unless of course an admin is catering to players requests for a map change which I have seen alot of lately.

Wow, What a great post! This sums up my opinion perfectly. I became one of those transplants when the decision was made to pull the plug on B2B. I'll admit that I hated the limited lives aspect when I first began playing here but I never once voiced that opinion because I considered myself a guest. Once I realized how much it added to the game by forcing teamwork to remain "unskulled", I grew to love it. I have a hard time understanding anyone who is so competitive as to TK a guy for being unfamiliar with a map. I've never lost sight of the fact that this is just a game I bought at WalMart, and I'm just moving a mouse around a screen. If someone else is able to move the pointer a few milliseconds faster than this old dog, good for them. I'm going water skiing ;-)

When you're operating solely on heresay you obviously feel biased towards some guy you've had buttsecks with for years. I understand, and yeah for future events I'll present a log (assuming pooty remains his cockgobbling self for future endeavors now that he knows I will be recording).

For me, I rarely have a problem with anyone on the server, including admins. I don't get banned or kicked unless it's by Pooty. What motivation would we have to just make this stuff up against Pooty? This thread has a lot of bickering going on and a few different contexts, but let me reinforce what my issue is.

Pooty went out of his way to initiate a problem with me. Why? I don't know, but I suspect it is just frustration with the "better" players. I am not trying to boost my ego on a forum, but I think i'm one of the better players in relation to the server. I have seen Pooty make remarks to me and other before about us cheating and just other general frustration/shit talking. I don't care if someone is saying i'm cheating, if I did, I couldn't ever play on ECGN because of Dick Burns. However, it is a bit ridiculous though that an admin would initiate a problem with me, knowing I will respond somehow, and then ban me if I do anything other than take the abuse.

I believe that before ECGN was the last really good server and the OSP crowd played elsewhere, Pooty was probably one of the better players on the server and now he resents the fact he is not rolling everyone. That would explain why the "old-school" ECGN players find it hard to believe that Pooty is doing anything wrong and i'm the problem. He probably was a fine admin before because he didn't have to deal with a wave of players that are better than him.

ECGN is one of my favorite servers ever. The settings are great for pubbing and most of the players are fun to play with. My point is that I do come in your server, have fun, and chill a bit. My problem is that Pooty likes to occasionally prevent me from doing that.

If you can ever agree that it is "ok" to tk someone for the sake of stats (winning is just a stat gentlemen), then I will have none of it.

I have no qualms in saying you are a much better gunner than I am. There is a thing called tact, and several people in this thread need to learn how to use it. I didn't start playing on this server until both B2B was dropped and I got fed up with HighOne/GP. Pooty is a good team player, and for the most part, level-headed as far as I can tell.

I was a much more brutal admin than he could ever be... and I like to think that I did things fairly well in my time. (and no, I wouldn't have banned you for kicking my ass [unless of course you were on my team at the time]).

There is no argument to support Tking. All attempted arguments are therefore to be deemed nonsensical and beyond the bounds of common-sense.

It should be realized that you are playing with real people who, much like yourself, are looking to unwind and have some fun. The majority of people are not highly competitive in a technical sense.

Take bowling for example (I'm a bowler, therefore I go to bowling)... Most people prefer to keep the lane conditions easy, drink beer, and have fun. There are a few that prefer a higher level of difficulty and seriousness in the sport, but they are heavily outnumbered by those who prefer to just unwind and have fun. Therefore, as a habit of good business, the alleys normally cater to the first group... The more competitive people are at times, fairly aggravated by that fact...

So, here in the Wolf-world... things are going to be more directed to those sitting at their keyboards drinking beer and wanting to kill some time and stress.

Now, if you'd like to sit there and tell us we're all idiots for disagreeing with you.. Just think on how we think of you for telling us you disagree with us.
