real laggy playing beach
I don't understand...until recently I always had a good stable connection, my fps were always at 120 and my ping was always at 50-60
now my fps goes from 20-250, and my ping is going from 50-220 any thoughts???
I have changed nothing with my config
I have comcast btw
recent speed test to NYC, almost same distant to server in Va
Last Result:
Download Speed: 30523 kbps (3815.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 2783 kbps (347.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Re: real laggy playing beach
you probably know my feelings about comcast by now so I'll skip all the bad mouthing for now... But for me, I always get crappy routes. check your route and see if that changed. wouldn't affect your FPS though so probably something else.
Re: real laggy playing beach
try using command prompt in Accessories, run a netstat to check for trojans and hijackers. type in netstat
Next try pinging the server in command prompt ping 69.65.113.18 this will show your ping and how many hops to the server and where if any it jumps
Also try pathping 69.65.113.18
Finally run a route trace .... Tracert 69.65.113.18
Hit enter after each of these, all of these will help if your speaking to the IT section of your ISP
TBH I think most people are experiencing issues with the server
Hope this helps peg down where the problem is

Re: real laggy playing beach
Although minor but it has an impact, the money-grubbing chumps at comcast as always oversold their bandwidth which cause speeds to vary greatly. Causing the "up-to" speed to be drastically lower. Another thing I know ISP's are doing is that they are reducing bandwidth to end-users like ourselves who consume large amounts of bandwidth, without our knowledge. And at times of course they will "spoof" the modems we use to appear on, but in reality are off. WHY? because they oversold their bandwidth and conserve it for higher-paying businesses or customers. This happens to me regularly, if not EVERYDAY I PLAY ON THE SERVER. With the amount of crap that travels through the backbone of the internet you cant seriously think that it won't have an impact? And with the expansion of the internet increasing rapidy it will further reduce the speeds, until more cables are laid.
And if you were to call your ISP about this they will say, "o we seem to be experienceing technical issues", or "we are re-routing the area" or, "LIE"
Although your problem may stem from a trojan, virus, deterioration of performance in your system, I highly doubt it and it is the ISP's fault. Of course it could be systems like google, yahoo, and other gov agencies that monitor our network traffic, without us knowing AND we have little protection from it.

Re: real laggy playing beach
thanks guys
I did a tracert, and I go to Washington DC then to VA, so 3 hops not to bad
But man this sucks, I did install a new driver for my Geforce 9600 GT, it didn't help lol
But i do not have any weird software running, trojans ect....I am a guru when it comes to that, might have to have Donny look at it, or have him sign into my computer
