Copying files to new computer

Postby sgtslaught42 » Tue Mar 24, 2009 8:32 pm

I'm getting a new computer. Any tips on which files need to come over from the previous computer. I'd like to bring over configs and maps. Assuming wolfconfig_mp.cfg from main and shrubmod folders. What files need to come over so I don't have to re-download all the maps? What else am I missing?
Also will it run on Vista? Anyone reinstalled recently on vista that could jot down a few tips? Thanks in advance for any advice.

everything you have in main, that is a map, your wolf config, and any autoexec files in main thats all you need

And Vista lol good luck, waiting on the next one, before I get a new computer with that on it

I had to dl some .dll files and you have to be comp admin and shut off user account controls. Took me a few hours to get everything set up (lot quicker if you got someone that has done it) but I could help walk you through what I did if you need it.

P.s. this is for vista set up.

I don't wanna have to think. If i can't figure it out i'm usually on the phone with MAA or at his house dropping the comp off. When i got this comp i got myself a flash drive and copied everything on it and then right on to the new comp.

I use 64-bit XP, which is a stripped down Server 2003. Keep your Vista.

I found MAA's post in this thread in the archives ...

I'll try the suggestions tonight and report back with progress. Probably should have just searched first before creating a new thread.

I miss Windows2000 .. the best friggin Windows yet !!! Never had not ONE single crash, then for whatever reason at work I had to upgrade to ME then XP, I changed all the gui to look like Win2k and run everyting in Win2k compatible mode. So basically what I'm trying to say is that hopefully when MS goes belly up they will release the source code for all their OS' and us hackers can perfect the antichrist's dream of global domination. Too bad I'm stoned and retarded right now otherwise I'd sign on to the beach and kick all your asses !!!!
