DoomIII will be a very good game. I have a 200mb video of developers and ingame footage from when they were at the half way point of development. The monsters look lifelike, graphics are outstanding. I will definetly buy the game. Anyone know the release date?

If you consider how the first 2 Doom games were made on the same engine, and all of a sudden, Doom 3 looks ultra realistic, it's kind of a huge forward leap. More often than not, games with more than 2 sequels have transition phases of their engines.

With Doom III, it's like going from the stone age into the warp speed capability age...shazzaaam! :D

I think you mean the leaked alpha... (Which runs at around 5 FPS on computers)

Actually my friends comp had it running at 12-20 fps at some points. Though 20 was the absolute max ;)

The Doom III pics look great, but IMO, Far Cry will be better.

Here's a link to the thread I started about the cryENGINE, which is the engine Far Cry will be running on. Make sure to watch the video.

And here's a link to Gamespot's Far Cry Q&A.
