The Few The Proud
Hey you guys
It's huntress.
Just wondering on how ECGN is going. I havent been on in quite some time hahah.
I've enlisted in the Marines and I'm waiting for my medical to clear before I leave for thirteen weeks of BMT. Fun stuff huh? Isn't it funny, a few years ago I wasn't even thinking I'd actually be LIVING rtcw. HAHA. I hope eight years of gaming will help me in real life.
I hope puzzy's still kicking all of your asses and showing you whose boss

Re: The Few The Proud
As a veteran of 24 years in the Corps, my experience is that playing RTCW and real life are basically opposites.
Just a few of the major/minor differences:
1. 1 Hit point hurts like hell and usually knocks you out of combat, at least temporarily, depending on the location of the hit.
2. Helmets work in real life and head shots are lucky, so in real life you always aim for the center of the body (The stomach, not the key 1% lower). (Unfortunately, this is a habit I can't break and one of the reasons I suck at RTCW)
3. There is not much of a time limit and usually no ammo limit in real life. Volume of fire and not taking casualties is what counts.
4. Noboby knows how many enemies they killed or wounded except for snipers. No one else cares. As long as they're not shooting back, who gives a shit?
5. Leadership and teamwork are critical.
Best of luck.

HAHAHAH.
I kind of figured all of that.
The reason I didn't join the AF was because my brother and several other members were in the AF.
The marines is the only military branch I know that none of my family has been in.
The Marines have great educational benefits etc. etc., but what I'm looking for is a challenge.

@Huntress - That is so cool! Thanks in advance for serving your country.
@Meyer - I'm impressed by anybody who is willing to serve, but a guy who gives 24 years!?
Thanks.

Re: The Few The Proud
Oh, PS.
Do you know how hard it was to get RTCW on my mac?
I have two problems:
1. I keep getting kicked for "r_ext_nv_fog_dist = 1" I change it to 0 in the console, but somehow it keeps reverting back to 1 and instantly kicking me.
2. Everytime I change the brightness (i.e. r_mapoverbrightbits, intensity), I draw down console and it's too bright to read, no matter which one I change.
Anyone know how I can possibly fix this?

Re: The Few The Proud
Unlike you in RTCW, you can't hack your way through the Marines. Grew up in a Marine family. Marines are nothing but a brainwashing branch, good luck.
