I'm sorry I don't bash you for things you only experimented with (dyke cough).
If you've never been in the marines, don't even think about bashing it.

Daughter: But, Moooommmm, I don't like peas!!!!
Mom: Well, sweetie, have you ever had them?
Daughter: Noooo......
Mom: Exactly. Now stfu and eat them.

Why would a neat 19yo girl join the Marines, who are you proving yourself too?

Sure training is fun and makes one strong. But where will you stationed, where will you be sent?
Risking your life, T(a)King others, perhaps live the rest of your life with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Defending ones own country is a noble cause, (i was a Swedish MP/sharpshooter) but your country are at war abroad. Fighting for what - oil and "democracy"?

Is it really worth it?

Here's an advice:
Get yourself a higher education and join a gym or something.
Then live your own free life, instead of getting appointed to by politicians.

""democracy""? Shooter?

I guess you've never seen footage of what life in Iraq was like under that lunatic and his two "We own the world" wasted sperm cells.

So you would have no problem with Hooday or whatever the hell his name was choosing your wife or daughter to be the next one that he rapes in front of you? Or receiving 40 lashes because you missed a goal on an empty net for Iraq's soccer team. This kind of treatment and worse went on daily under Saddam's rule.

Good riddance to those fucks, they got off way too easy.

This war is about a hell of a lot more than "oil" and quite frankly when I hear that it makes me fucking sick.
Never stop until that mf'er Osama Bin Laden and ALL of his followers are sent to HELL. Then move onto the next demented lunatics.

"political correctness" slowed everything down and has costs way too many lives and will cost many more. Certain countries should have been wiped off the map on September 12th, 2001, hopefully while they were broadcasting the footage of them dancing in the streets.
It would have happened for sure if it was Sept. 12, 1945.
The enemy knows that political correctness is their biggest allie that's why they hide in mosques, schools, hospitals, etc..

Fuck it, point me to the buttons, I'll press them.

Well said.

I don't know what the big deal is with Huntress going off to the Marines. She's doing something not many of us here would do (minus Gamb and Meyer), so I would say shut it, leave it be her choice.

I'm not telling her what to do, i'm asking why she wants to enlist.
Giving a young woman an advice from another point of view, nothing more to it.
Its her life and decisions.

I think it sounds like she has made her decision, and I commend her for it. Why shouldn't she post here and let her friends know?

For the record, if my father and others had played it safe back in 1943, many of us might be speaking German right now.

In all respects mate, it came off a bit overbearing and belittling. But I know what you were trying to say.

Lol warpig , same old American cowboy attitude.

First Obama is not an Iraqi, he is not there , was not there , Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11

Next who is America to push there laws, the political system , there beliefs on everyone else? Who the fuck is America to tell other countries what they can or can not do? I am sick to death about hearing how great America is, take a long look at your own country, You make mention of beatings rapes etc, try looking at the statistics for rapes or muggings, beatings etc in the US. Google it man, your country is way worse for this type of thing and yet you are supposed to be more advanced and civilized than all these other countries. Hell look at the poverty you have in such a supposedly wealthy country ( not so wealthy 11 trillion in debt) and the homeless and starving throughtout the whole US.

I apologize if you or others are truly offended about this but maybe you should be a bit more unbiased and look at things from all sides.

I did some research , almost 250,000 women reported being raped in 2008 in the US, yet for every woman that reports a rape 5 women who have been raped do not report it due to embarassment, shame, and various other reasons.

1 out of every 8 women in the US will be raped in there lifetime.

I understand all of your posts, and its not in any way downgrading.

I respect your opinions and such, I really do, and I appreciate it. But the reasoning why I want to, is somewhat selfish on my part. I know this. If you want to know why, then I don't have a problem. I'm open for a discussion.

I know myself to be a procrastinator, a pretty good one to boot, and I feel I need someone to "kick" me in the right direction. I'm a strong girl, (not to be underestimated as saving myself from rape in the marines), but I want a challenge. Cold hearted challenge. As to say why the marines? Marines because they form a brotherhood. An alliance. A family. I also know that men are a lot different in the marines. That's where me being strong plays a roll in this. I don't think I will be brainwashed. But I want to be in a part of something more. Make a difference, etc. And be rewarded for it.

Our economy is in no shape for me to get a job and save up for college for many years. Joining the marines isn't an easier way, by all means, but it is a much faster way.

From the movie A Few Good Men:

"You can't handle the truth.
Son, we live in a world that has walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? I have a greater responsibility that you can possibly fathom. You weep for Santiago and you curse the Marines. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. ... And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you saves lives. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties you want me on that wall. You NEED me on that wall. We use words like honor, code, loyalty. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just say "Thank You" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to."

I'm not going to get into an argument about which war is right or wrong. But don't start denigrating the Corps.

...Regress to tired old man mode...

Someone mentioned to me that movie about two hours ago. Weird coincidence.

It's a good paragraph. Very good. And it's true.
