PunkBuster and Windows 7

I'm getting kicked every time by PB now with this API error. This is on a new system running Windows 7, 64bit. I tried all the stuff in this thread, no dice. I have noticed that I can run in window mode just fine but if I go to full screen mode, I get kicked so it has be something with the graphics. I'm waiting on even balance to respond to my trouble ticket and will post what they find. In the mean time, anyone know of any workarounds besides window mode?

stop doing a vid_restart. as long as you're doing a vid restart you'll get kicked. i've noticed that this happens even if you vid_restart while not on a server. if you want to play fullscreen make sure wolf opens in fullscreen.

This is a Problem of both .
Like Win 7 and PB .

The problem is --read first this .

pb_sv_restrictions 1

Thats means ..

This version includes a new PunkBuster facility called PB Restrictions. By default, PB Restrictions are Enabled; the pb_sv_restrictions setting may be set to 0 by server admins who do not wish for PB to kick for PB Restrictions. Kicking for PB Restrictions will be announced to players that join PB servers in the "WARNING: PB Kicks for ... All PB Restrictions on this server" message shortly after joining a server where PB Restrictions are Enabled. Initially, this facility will only work properly on Internet based PB Servers but will be extended to LAN servers in a future update. We expect to activate PB Restriction logging/kicking after the next PB Client update. Players who are kicked for a PB Restriction will be notified of the reason they were kicked. Additionally, PB Restrictions will be logged on all PB Servers even when kicking is disabled.

When Server Admins this sett to Zero (0) -you can play on this Server with Win 7

Anycase dont now why its makes so problems with Win 7 , but when ist offsett , its works .
Hearth its makes makes problems with makro and scripts .
Maby makro keybords ?.

You must not anything to change on youre Client PB just Update
Just connect on the Server a Couple Times , while PB must ghet the Data with Server and Client .

I mean , dont give up the first Time .
As server Admin i have to retry couple of Times . but till the end you ghet luck .

You can try it on this Server .. thats Us .

This pb_sv_restrictions 1 --- takes look to macro and hotkeys Progs by Client , also for Player.

When Server Admins this sett to Zero (0) -you can play on this Server with Win 7

Previously had no problems with Vista.
Since Win 7 only problems.

After doing the suggestions in this thread and what evanbalance said, I'm no longer having issues. Here's the email from them:

Note #2: Please download the latest PBSVC installer from the following link.

Uninstall, install, then press the "Test Services" button. Copy-paste the entire output from the "Test Services" window in a new note.

To run PBSVC under Windows Vista and above you will need to run the game as an administrator. To do this, right-click on the pbsvc.exe icon and select "Properties", then the "Compatibility" tab. From that tab, check the box labeled "Run this program as an Administrator" and click OK. You need to follow these steps, even when you are logged in as admin, else the game will be started in user mode.

Please check if you have allowed PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB in your Windows firewall (if enabled). Please go the Start menu and navigate to the Control Panel. Open the Windows Firewall icon and go to the "Exceptions" tab. Check if both checkboxes for PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB are checked.

Also provide which anti-virus and/or firewall program you are running. You might have to allow both PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe with full permissions in your security software.

We now this Problem , lot of member ghot win 7 -- 32 or 64 bit .

The also kicked from Server - but we have change something into the server config for Win 7 User.

Try it out and post how it works ..

pb_sv_restrictions

'pb_sv_restrictions 1/2' detect macro software

Yes it detects macro software, it's a detection.
Its enabled into PB config release, currently it's set to "1".

We have this disabled in the server config .
We have a Bani Mode Fun Server .- and only want to play and have fun without this PB error kick messages.

Dont now why this Old RTCW makes this errors with PB ?.
New Games are Running without problems .

While PB dont ghet a solution we have turn this pb_sv_restriction Off.

Thats means PB runs on this Server, only this is turned Off.

Someone off you can ask by evenbalance in englisch --why this make so many problems .
