Deathmatch?
Would there possibly be any way for admins to change the game play mode on occasion? I feel map changes happen often enough, but is it possible to throw in death match here and there? It might be that the server settings won't allow for it, but I thought I'd ask. I remember years ago the admins would initiate freeze tag here and there.

Re: Deathmatch?
There is no deathmatch game mode.
You can turn off objectives, but there's no scoring or anything for it.

Re: Deathmatch?
You don't need any scoring for DM. As long as game doesn't end when time runs out and keeps going till one team is dead, you have it all. But don't think it's a wise idea to run DM on obj server with 30 people playing that are completely unused to it and all the waiting that comes with it. Just my thoughts :)

Re: Deathmatch?
Gotcha, thanks for the reply. I just had fleeting memories of spawning in odd places on sub and just going for kills. Wasn't sure if it was an option or not.
Re: Deathmatch?
Deathmatch gametype in mods is just a fancy tag nothing more really. Game by default offers all you need for deatmatch (noteamswitching, maxlives..), difference is only that mods that support dm by default get rid of stuff you otherwise have to do by script (objectives and in some cases forced customized spawns). Sub can easily be changed in dm by modifying _cp script with removing flags out of the script and you're good to go. If you want to go step further map can be edited and spawn location changed which is simple to do and doesn't require any downloads from clients.
If you want to go into somewhat advanced mode, you can create new folder called maps inside mod folder (must not be main) and rename mp_sub to mp_Sub and since linux is case sensitive, dump that bsp and script in maps folder, and load it by calling mp_Sub and it will load with all custom settings set and force clients to load their own default map with changes that are done in that map etc.
