It's a better solution than disabling unlag. I said it has very little use, it can be useful in a few spots like the tavern door on village but overall it is still a noob weapon. The people that use it regularly on the server just damage their team. It is not essential in any way, I will take a decent gun over flame in any situation.

I disagree :)

I'm playing on ecgn for a couple years and ppl still didn't learn how to get up through the upper hole when I'm there with flames. They can get up only when I'm tked by a lottogrenade :> 99 of 100 cases. I invite you to try me there, this technique works quite well on proish matches too (caused many lols through history :d), not just on ecgn, many years ago some even considered it as a bug of the village map :D I know only one single technique against it (a support is not enough - can be covered), but won't tell :D

Ofc. not strictly essential, but makes the game more versatile. Also I didn't see too much annoying flamers for years (mkay, sometimes some ppl try it and do more harm than good: but I treat it as part of their learning process), so I would miss the flames quite much. Also it turns out (as I see) it's not related to unlag.

I agree with this, however it's a pain when you're trying to recover the docs, or running them and you got a flame burnin half your team down for a single enemy kill, quite annoying.

I've reenabled flamer on maps other than Beach..See how that works out.

This way we will be able to test it at least until banned :))) It might bring plenty of new whines from ppl using only smg :)

BUT: it is not a real solution. Do you have any idea what we could do to investigate and maybe even solve the case one day? The only clue so far is that this bug arrived when switching to a 64 bit os (am I even right?). Does it exist only in shrub? I've never seen it anywhere except on ecgn.

Btw: yesterday someone mentioned dual panzers might overcome the lack of flames. I disagree, flames have a completely different role. Sharing the puss is enough imo (also it is fun, because forces ppl to cooperate), I see no need to allow more than one.

Tried flames on ice. It seemed mkay for a while (about 10-20 clean kills) then baaaang, about 10 ppl died instantly... It occured when blocking and burning an nmy around the allied end of north tunnel. I won't test it again for a while :)

Results are:

- flames on ice do not work,
- flames on frostbite (someone tried and failed) do not work,
- flames on tundra (someone tried it in the open) did work.

What I've seen was hitting walls usually ended in havoc.
