What are you reading?

I am hooked on Sci-Fi and Fantasy novels. Spend my lunchtime in Madison Park by the Flatiron building (the Daily Bugle in the Spiderman movie) reading and chilling.
Here are some killer books/series/authors I have read for those of you looking. Any suggestions for some good material are also appreciated.
1. Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin (Game of Thrones, Clash of Kings, Storm of Swords)
2. The Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind (Wizard's First Rule, Stone of Tears, Blood of the Fold, Temple of the Winds... thats where I am at now
3. Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay (any book by this man is worth the read, he rocks and I have read them all)
4. The Lions of Al-Rassan by Guy Gavriel Kay (Maybe my favorite fantasy novel of all time, although there is very little fantasy/magic in it)
5. The New Jedi Order by various authors (considering how Lucas has ruined his legacy it's nice to see The Star Wars universe expand with some bite and life to it. If you're into Star Wars you should read these and pass on the movies.)
6. The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan (if you have the time and patience it's a journey to take although I am not thrilled by the prospect of it never ending. That is not the case according to the author but he has yet to prove it to me.)
7. The Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton (A great series that has changed some direction and has incorporated alot of sex and violence in it of late. Not for everyone but if you can get into it, you will love it.)
8. The Assassin's Apprentice series by Robin Hobb. (Awesome series, great characters and a world that spills over into other series that are all worth reading.)
Anyway, that's enough for now, I have countless other great books that I have read. I am curious to see what others have read...

right now reading the left behind series those are great books and i recommend them to anyone

I enjoyed Piers Anthony's 'Incarnations of Immortality' series, long ago. I also enjoyed his other novels and series, but they are not for everyone. 0-)

well I´m a great fan about the isaac Asimov´s empire, foundation and robot novels, ( best Sci-Fi novels in my opinion) and historical and biografic books
I´just finished reading a few days ago:
-Berlin the falldown, 1945 from Antony Beevor

and now I have started reading The gulag archipielago from Alexandr Solzhenitsyn and a nice book with interesting stuff called "HITLER":D it´s about 1500 pags of his biografy and his reach to the III reich

I just finished reading ambroses book about the G.I's in WWII, that man can write. I also dabble with a little Asimov and am quite a fan of Terry Pratchet.

Best books? I read "The DaVinci Code" recently, excellent page-turner...
Loved Anne Rice's "Memnoch the Devil"... her "vampire" books since that haven't been NEARLY as good...
"Musashi" which is about an 17th century samurai swordsman, said to be the greatest ever. Miyamoto Musashi was an actual person and wrote "The book of five rings"...
Richard Marcinko's autobiography, "Rogue Warrior"... this guy is amazing... he founded SEAL Team 6 (counterterror) among other things. To touch on his personality, he was pissed off when they sent him home after ONLY two tours in 'Nam... he wanted to stay and kill more VC...
"Lord of the Rings"... I'm curious to see the direction Peter Jackson is going to take the last movie after the deviations from the book in TTT....
I like most of Michael Crichton's books... "Timeline" is coming out this summer and should be good... Also have read all of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan books, but his best one IMO is "Red Storm Rising". When those guys are out in the Icelandic wilderness with no cover and getting hunted by Mi-24 Hinds... you can't put it down...
Also recently read the origianal "Dune". Pretty good, but I don't really understand all of the hype around it...

I'll agree with the writing talents of Guy Gavrial Kay (though there were a couple of his books that weren't up to his par), Robert Jordan (but I refuse to read any more until I know he's done), and George RR Martin (this guy rocks).
Right now I'm reading The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, Soldat, It Never Snows in September, and Band of Brothers - all WWII books. I am also reading one of Ludlum's recent releases as well as Clancy's most recent - both authors have dropped significantly since their earlier work.
I too am re-reading The Return of the King. I don't know why Peter Jackson deviated from the Tolkien Two Towers in his movie. His changes did not add anything to the story. I hope he doesn't continue that trend in Return of the King. He did such a good job sticking to the original storyline in the first movie.

Hmm...i'm not a big fan for reading, however, I have read some Clancy novels in the past...
I went through about a fourth of Rainbow Six, but I didn't care for it...
I read the first book of the mini series "Net Force"...that was a pretty neat book!
