Blitzkrieg - the game
It's another RTS based on World War II with real World War II vehicles, infantry, weapons, artillery, aircraft...etc.
The only difference is, this one requires strategy well thought out tactical planning, no base building or resource management, just units and armies. You can't rush into a battle, you'd get slaughtered by troops in trenches and ambushes, you have to suppress enemy positions with artillery, maybe gain some air superiority by calling in fighters support, then follow it up with bombers. Tanks and infantry are your last line for offense to mop up... A very well thought out game and should satisfy those strategy buffs who wants realistic gaming.
Tanks and vehicles actually back up if you tell them to and they keep their strong armor (the front) facing the enemy, alternatively, you can flank their troops or advancing forces and push them towards your defensive positions, anti-tank guns, light/heavy howitzers, troops in trenches, the works...awesome game, the way RTS should be.
3 campaigns to choose from: Allies, Germany and Russian. The game is developed by the same ppl who brought you Sudden Strike and a Russian developer, hence a separate campaign for Russia despite the fact that technically, Russian troops were considered on the Allied side during the war...
I'm on Germany right now, I invaded Poland, then France and now I'm in North Africa ...hehe
Here in this screenshot, my infantry are in the trenches that I built with my engineers, note Opel transport trucks and Panzer III light tanks, plus the two AAA at my depot.
