Am I the only one who uses the keyboard?

Some people call me weird... but I only use the keyboard to play half the time. I am trying to learn to play with the mouse too, but i just seem better using just the KB. Anyone else like this or am I the only weirdo?:freak: :freak:

I use keyboard and mouse. Does only using keyboard give you an advantage and if so how?. :freak:

I doubt it gives an advantage.. im just old fasioned.. but if anyone does know of an advantage, lemme know

Using the keyboard is soooo Doom2

you have to aim up and down at any instance... I recommend using your mouse and having the sensitivity turned way way down, so you get the feel, as you get better, turn it up a bit and get used to that, and so on and so forth, I have mine 1/4th the way from the left, not too sensitive, but the faster I move it the further I will turn.

and of course you need to use the mouse and the keyboard, how else are you going to go foreward? strafe? crouch? reload? talk? err and that other stuff

keyboard alone is just for a doom2 player that runs into a room and presses and holds down the right direction and sprays the plasma gun everywhere killing everyone in the room, pfft lame shiz

good game we just played... yea, i think im getting pretty good with the mouse... still think im better with the KB though... we'll see ... ... ... :ar15:

I use the keyboard to move and the mouse to aim/fire.
Using just the keyboard for everything doesn't seem as fast and as quick as using the mouse also.

That is right, if you want better aim go with the mouse and the KB.

I dunno ...im very quick with the fingers. When i need to look up and around, im just as fast with the KB as the mouse. But the mouse is a lot better for some things. like jumping... its on the 2nd mouse button...usually I used alt and someteimses missed and pushed the start menu button then wolf freezed and bah. no good.

ummm... what is your space bar set to?... I have my right mouse key on special number 5 so if I am a medic I get syringe, and if I am a lieut I pull out a smoke and get killed cause its not charged and they are pummel me down with lead and I go home weighing in at 360 pounds.
but really, set space bar for jump... its a really big key, how can you miss it and make RTCW crash hahaha

doh I've hit that dang start button before too, and its messed me up, but the game kept going, I just had to reclick on it.

Here's my set up-
Mouse: Look around, fire, jump, scroll weapons
Arrow keys: Move
ctrl: crouch
shift: sprint
4(num pad): drop weapon
enter: activate
0(num pad): reload

That's pretty much all I use. Wierd setup eh?

keyboard + mouse = circular side steping, better aiming, perfect rocket jumping,etc

umm, lemme make a few suggestions.
W=foreward
S=backward
A=strafe left
D=strafe right
Q=lean left
E=lean right
R=reaload (derrr)
F=action
Z=nade pack
X=be creative
Space=jump
U=s_stop (its a reach but when you die you have time.)
H=playdead (must say, I never do use this one...)
G=+salute (get those mofo's outta your way)
M=smoke

fluid motion with a mouse is a must, no keyboard will ever come close to the pure fast reaction of a mouse.

and I also suggest you put something special on your right mouse button, who jumps with their mouse keys really? I dont.. its ... its... ok so I have no good reason why it sucks, I've just always been used to having my mouse button connected to my rail gun so I could snipe off those dirty Q3ers. and click down the mouse wheel for the rocket. and just had to adapt something new for RTCW

and I totally sucked with the rocket launcher.. I was only good at jumping with it.. the explosions were so little its amazing you could even kill anything with it.. was like setting off a single black cat firecracker.
closest I get to rocket jumping in RTCW is when I am jumping down to the beach. and sometimes with the aid of a nade or Keekanoo's !fling all
