question about rolling change and banks...

i just rolled tons of change. when you bring it to the bank, do they just take your word for it, or do they have some kind of machine to make sure it's accurate?

I really don't know since the Kroger stores here in Memphis have this machine where you just pour in the change, it counts the change, and then prints out a receipt and you take it to the service desk and they give you the cash. They charge a very small % to do this.

They used to take your word for it. But people have come up with scemes to short change the bank with rolling up change with metal washers or Chuck E. Cheese tokens. Now they usually want you to have an account with them and they make you write your name and info on the rolls of change.

We have them in Texas also.. Coin Star. They rock

I worked for a bank in Germany a time ago. We count the rolled change by the weight, because every coin has a special weight and so has a specific quantity of them. After remarking the clients a/c-number on the rolls we took them for crediting client's a/c.

most banks require you to have an account with them and have and have your account # written on the side of the roll. Haven't done that in a long time so not sure if they changed it. anyway stop robbing little kids and old ladies for milk money:mad: and get a job slacker!!

coinstar is for the lazy, it takes 7% and that isnt cool when youve got a whole load of coinage.

im gettin through rollin 3 years worth of pocket change from lunch. $230. in quarters so far, i havent moved on to the dimes and knickels yet. if i have to write my info on every roll, im gonna be pissed.

I actually remember a friend of mine, since he didn't have a account an anywhere gave me a whole gym back full of rolled quarters (he took the quarters from his mom's laundry buisness) and I had to write my account number and all that crap on each roll and we got all of it in ones so we have dollars to tip the ladies at Platinum Plus!!

Damn do I miss being underage and using my brothers ID!!!!!!!!!
