What are you using in your system?

Postby Weasel Meat » Sat Oct 26, 2002 9:35 am

Whats your system specs.

My Specs are..

AMD Athlon XP 2100+
MSI Mobo with KT333 chipset
512 MB DDR Ram
Original GeForce 3
120 GB Western Digital Hd
SB Live
3Com 10/100 NIC
Cable Modem 2.2Mbs Down 360Kbps Up
Windows XP Pro with SP1 Or Red Hat Linux 7.3 Which ever I feel like playing with.

I think it is my video card causing hardware lag under heavy airstrike attacks. Does any one not lag under these attacks? What is in your box?

Apple Rules!

Postby Lord ZOG » Tue Oct 29, 2002 10:59 pm

I have the following;

350MHz Apple iMac
32MB RAM
16MB ATi Rage Fury Video Card
20GB Hard drive
Logitech Trackball
DCOAS Internet (Dixie cup on a String)

I can run 640x480 at 16 FPS, and that single button mouse makes me one "Killing MAchine!"

My iMac

Postby Lord ZOG » Thu Oct 31, 2002 12:54 am

What do you mean, my system can't play the game?

I can play!! Sure, it might take an hour to even load the damn game, and then another 15 minutes to spawn...but it's great! I can take shots at my opponents between frames! It's better than any WWII slide show my grandpa showed me, if a little less exciting.

Hell, I'm lucky if the 16 actual frames I get are per game!

Your system may own my system now, but wait until I pony up my rubles for another 32MB of PC100 RAM!

Then you'll be begging for my mercy!

Little ole P3 850 oc'd to 900, 384 megs of mixed ram, GF2 GTS 32meg agp, SB GamerX, and some generic 48x cdrom, but I use a virtual cd to decrease my load times from 1.5 minutes to 1.3 minutes(hey, every second counts...or something like that).

Runs great for me.

Sarcasm...

Postby Lord ZOG » Thu Oct 31, 2002 9:56 am

I'm actually kidding about the iMac (sheesh, do Europeans not have senses of humor!?).

My real system is as follows;

Enermax CS-5190AL-061 Aluminum Case, Black
AMD Athlon XP2000+ CPU (Copper Heat Sink)
MSI 6373 nForce, DDR motherboard
512MB Crucial PC2100 DDR RAM (tried 1GB but FPS dropped)
60GB Maxtor 7200rpm ATA100
Sound Blaster Audigy
Cambridge Soundworks FourPointSurround FPS2000
Logitech 2x Optical Wheel Mouse
Windows XP Pro SP1

I did have a PNY G-Force4 ti4600 AGP Video card, but I recently "upgraded" to ATi's Radeon 9700 Pro which has turned out to not only be fast but cranky and unstable (me thinks it don't like the nForce chipset).

I get 12300 in MadOnion's 3DMark2001SE with the ATi card and 10385 with the G-Force4.
