To format it depends on what operating system u have running. For 95, 98, and ME restart into DOS and type "Format C:/" For 2000 and XP simply boot with ur install disk and a nice program will start up before windows that will allow u to format, just follow the steps.

My directions for 95,98, and ME may be wrong, for i only formatted ME once and that was awhile ago... but i do believe im close if not exact.

I done did it, I got NOTHING on my pc now:violin:

I called Dell and they told me how to do it step by step, what a hassle... so many steps to follow
